I'm a guy and I'll play as a male or a female. I'm one of those types who likes to see everything a game has to offer.
Do you play as female or male?

Interesting but impractical if it's only as strong as glass. To make up for it, the armour should automatically activate the bard talent "Distraction" every time a humanoid enemy comes within range.

Well, in real life i am female, so i have played as a female character.
Just wondering if any males play as females?
I'm tempted to create a sexy hunky male lol.

Heh...I play a female...unless I want to make it through the game without romancing Alistair. Then I play a male. Poor Zev is only ever going to get homosexual love from my characters. I just can't say no to Al.

I play females, my boyfriend plays males. We fight over this game.

It's about 70/30 for me, the majority of my characters being male.

I'm am a guy and I usually play both genders at some point. Although, I play more female characters than male because stories are more interesting when the lead character is female. I don't usually romance with my female characters, it just feels odd.

In games like Dungeons and Dragons (tabletop, not the silly mmo) I tried my hand at being female, but honestly I'm no good at it. Women are hard to roleplay effectively, and it can get wierd. So I tend to stick towards male characters.
In World of Warcraft I play an occasional female because I like their casting animations better, or sometimes i just feel like not looking like a man in a dress. But there's no real roleplaying to be had there.
My Dragon Age Characters have all been male, except one. And I didn't play her very long. It's easier for me to identify with male characters, and really immerse myself in the world. Playing women as characters feels like a novelty to me, and I'd rather have the rich experience I get from really diving into DA:O

I'm a guy and on my first playthroughs they were normally HMN warriors as I felt more comfortable with them.
Now I'm playing as a female city elf rogue for the first time, romancing Alistair, and the whole experience is just entirely new for me. I think I've fallen in love with my female city elf considering the outcomes and tragedies that I can simply make compared to my original character.

I always had difficulties playing has a female character.I try because i know i miss stuff. But i'm a guy so can't really immerse myself while playing a character with a huge rack .Yeah it's pixel but it's also tell a story.I feel more connected with a male character than a hourglass character.
Like we all loved to call them in age of conan ..
DAMN SHEMALE.
That remind me grouping with a female stygia ... than we started a vents and ..

I always play as a male character, in every RPG I try to make my character a self-portrait to really feel like being him.
I played as a female character once but I couldnt stand it, it just didnt feel right, I didnt feel like being part of the character or that its MY adventure.

I'm a girl, so I generally play female characters. However, I finished Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Amn with a male PC... I now play a female elven mage in DA:O

The gender dosn't matter to me, I play many characters, not just one and whenever I create a character I have an idea of what type of character it will be, gender, alignment etc. It's a fantasy game, and when I play then I'm inside the fantasy game, who I am in real life dosn't matter when playing, that's how I see it.

I tend to look at my PC's as characters created to fit in with the story. So I have no problem playing females(im male) in that sense. My first playthrough, however, is almost always a male. I don't know why, probably because I look at my first playthrough as my "canon" playthrough, and so I play it more to what I would do. Most subsequent playthroughs are female, they tend to have more interesting characters. I haven't and won't ever do a romance plot with a female character though.

I try to mix it up, but most of my characters are male. I do have a couple female, but the human male mage is my favorite.

I've played Dragon Age both as a male and female, however I always make my females with the two strands of hair in front with the ponytail at the back with white hair. Don't know why but it works.

My first character in RPGs is always a female "Elf Ranger" type.
Dalish, female, bow-wielding Rogue it is.
