in dragon age, i know the foes you face, match whatever level your character is.
(or 1 or 2 levels below (or above) the level of your character. {darkspawn grunts are 1-2 below, darkspawn alpha/emiseries, 1-2 above})
so when you start the game at level 1, you'll face level 1 enemies, and when you reach level 20, your foes are level 20 as well.
i read somewhere (could be the guide book) that when you enter an area for the first time, all the enemies in that area are set to match whatever level your character is.
you can then leave that area, go do another quest, some side quests, level up a few times, then go back.
even though you have gained 2, 3 or 4 levels, the enemies are still set to your original level, when you unlocked the area. giving you a huge advantage.
its a good tip to know, if you are struggling with a certain battle. just leave the area, do something else, level up, then go back later in the game with the advantage of being stronger than anything you have to fight.
my question regarding this;
what does it count as 'an area'??
when i start, for example, the 'paragon of her kind' questline, i start out at frostback mountain, then enter orzammar, dust town, the diamond quarter, deep roads, caradins cross, ortan thaig, the dead trenches, etc...
so is the 'enemy level' set as soon as i reach frostback mountains (for all the areas accessed after that)
or are they all counted as seperate areas? do i have to enter the dead trenches to set the level of the enemies there, and then enter caridins cross to set the level there?
does anyone know exactly how this works??
thanks
