Go on the outerdeck taking out the geth and turrets. When you get to the end, turn around, go back, and then do the maintenace shaft.
During the geth dropship scene, wait until the dropship stops dropping geth before activating one, and only one turret.

Twelve times through this game and that's the first I've ever heard of that.
I feel kinda dumb.

Also, as a point of reference, it takes 462,100 experience points to make it to level 57. It takes an additional 400,000 experience points to make it to level 60.
Also, I realize this in no way actually helps answer the original poster's question. So much for my reading skills.

I thought i had been really intense as well, except when exploring planets. I only really went to the parts already pointed out, as grew bored easily. As far as i know ive only missed out on 2 quests, for Nassana and Garoth, as i forgot about them until after i couldnt return to the citadel
Can i upload my character for a 3rd trial then? I suppose that way i might feel brave enough to attempt insanity mode. If not might be worth investing in a walkthrough guide and do it properly...

Then you threw away a lot of XP by not finding every single mineral.NamiraWilhelm wrote...

You don't need to wiki them to find them all - just use a thorough search pattern. I always find all the minerals, because driving the Mako is my favourite part of the game.
Though, as mentioned, killing things using the Mako carries a 60% XP penalty. Jumping out to kill things will get you more than twice as much XP.

so am I!
the only prob with me is that I copied my save game to another xbox live account to do some tests and then copied a save game on the profile back to my original one and guess what. no more achievements. so I ever got any of the major achievements. obviously I only reaslised this after my 1st playthtough, but I loved my shep so much and put som much work into him that i carried on playing with him, achievements or not.
pretty sucky...

Yeah i got a few other achievement to get to make it interesting, 150 sniper kill insanity and quarian squad member. Everything else is for an engineer and i cant be bothered to make a new character for now
The planets are still there n i could go back, its just so tedious driving in that thing searching for stuff. Maybe ill go back to the planets and try to get it on this playthrough...

I used the mass effect wiki for my second playthrough. its got a very thorough achivements section so for example you can use it to find which planets have what minerals and see which ones you still need. it also tells you which ones you can pick up just from scanning you you dont have to drop to the planet surface everytime.

i'm already level 55 completing the game for a 2nd time... level 60 should be easy, just 5 points away... that's just merely 5 in game fights out of a near hundred (including main missions)... I'm keeping my team combo, Liara Asari (important with biotics), and a soldier Kaidan or Ash (great with guns)Christmas Ape wrote...
I've found that as long as you come through the first playthrough at 50, you should make it. It's possible, if you're obsessive about finding -everything-, to hit level 60 on your first/second playthroughs, before the bonus XP achievements are all in. Open everything, wiki all the minerals, shoot as much on foot as possible during the Ilos Trench Run. My last playthrough I completed just enough of the game on first run for the Ally achievement - I got the notification of 'Asari Ally' while taking cover from Saren in the Council Chamber - and made 60 by the end. It doesn't require doing 200% of the game, just about 180%. You should be fine, just maximize those side quests.
Which ones are left? Might give a better sense of your odds.

ETA: Outdoors is overrated sometimes. There's a big flaming ball of gas out there. That can't be healthy.

Well, since Insanity is an achievement you need to get anyway, this way you'll be getting two achievements in one playthrough.
