What a game this is! I always considered Baldur's Gate I and II with Throne of Bhaal to have been the best roleplaying games of all times. Then Neverwinter Nights 2 with expansions. And now finally, Dragon Age beats them all by far.

The dialogues are fantastic and I never felt there wasn't anything I could do or respond to. I have never played a game where you have so many options as you have here. From being good to being outright vicious, you can do it.

Companions really feel alive. The way they talk and respond to situations really make them feel as part of your group instead of people just tagging along for a free drink. It's fun how they grow in skill the more you get to know them as well. It's another incentive to talk to them all and not just for the dialogues which are great in themselves.

The story is solid, and I really like some of the deeper twists and turns they baked in there. There's enough lore here to keep you busy for a long time. Graphics are fine, nothing spectacular but certainly good enough to be considered a good looking game.

The multiple endings and outcomes of all the quests you did and how you did them was also a very cool feature. This in itself made me want to play through it again, and again.

There are some bad things too of course:
Poor loot drops, most armor looks the same with just a minor difference in colour thanks to different materials.
Finding trainers or books for the path you wanted your first playthrough was a pain. Not fun.
Paying for tactical slots was something I really didn't like doing, but had to do so companions would be useful.
Elves, Dwarves and Mages recruitment felt a bit repetetive. Huge dungeon to complete before you could do it.
Archer feel a bit poor.

And final verdict despite its few flaws? The best game I've ever played! Thank you BioWare, I thought you had lost it, but now you show you are on top!

This truly is a brilliant game.

Im sitting here at work thinking of strategies and tactics, and cant wait to get home and play again.

Would like more diverse loot... specific class items etc...

But all in all, one of the best RPG's i have ever played

Haha yeah, I'm doing the same. As soon as I'm away from home, and I'm currently moving (why now?! why release it now?!) I keep thinking about what I'm gonna do next and how party combinations... *sigh*

Ya I really like the game, the story is amazing and I like it even more since I found many similarities with George R.R Martin work, A Song of Ice and Fire. I love those books and I only found a couple of weeks ago the dev had that work as an inspiration for the game. From the Blight and Grey Warden, to the conspiracy between the different families. I only bought it Saturday morning but I havent played since them. Unfortunally Im at work and wont be able to play till tuesday evening. So I keep thinking about it and what I will be doing next. I love the complex plot, the interactions between the caracters, doing some actions without knowing if people will agree with you of even if you are doing the right thing. I also like the gameplay and combats. I'm looking forward to finish the game jsut to start again with another caracter and storyline and to redo some choices differently just to see the outcome.

You might be happy to learn that there's a Game of Thrones game in development by a french studio. I don't know what it will be like, it oculd be a strategy game as well as a roleplaying game. But I agree with you in your post. The influences are definately there, and I love the books as well as the game ;D
