Don't get me wrong, posts from people like you really suck me in to this thread over the months, so in a way, I'm glad you're posting.

However, you pefectly illustrate what's wrong with you anti-cerberus types. You bash cerberus with impunity for what they did, but either offer no options, or if you do, you offer pie in the sky alternatives that you argue will 100% work even though it hasn't been tested, Cerberus had it's sucesses. It had it's set backs, but overall it got results. Without them, the collectors wouldn't have been stopped.

Based on the direct reference to Mass Relays, and Vigil's revelation of how the Reapers operate, I took the use of "paths" to be more literal.

I'm certain that is how the line was originally written to be understood. However I'm also reasonably certain that Bioware has ret-conned this now mean technology in general... with Legion being their voice. I don't like it and it probably does mean that the Collector base will come back to bite me in the butt, but w/e...

We're already on the path the reapers desired anyway. Meaning, using the mass relays and the citadel as a hub so they can conquor us easily. Personally I don't think the geth have a problem using reaper tech. They use the realys and mass accelerator weapons after all like anyone else. The problem they had was just reaching their ultimate goal of building a dyson sphere to house all their programs. They wanted to do that themselves rather than just have the reapers do that for them.

The collector base doesn't represent achieving the ultimate goal for humanity. We haven't even decided what that is yet. The base just represents a means to an end. Nothing more.
