I destroyed the base. Mostly just because I think TIM would end up doing something horrible with it. If I could give it to the Alliance and/or the Citadel sure but TIM is not to be trusted with such tech.

I  wish Bioware had given more options with this like they did with that Cerberus data from the dead operative.  You could turn it over to Cerberus, give it to the Alliance or keep it for yourself.

Well giving it to anyone else is not an option since its in the Terminus and Cerberus are the only ones with Tech to reach the Collector base

Cerberus WERE the only ones with the tech to get into the Terminus.

That tech was on the Normandy SR2 and it sounds as if most players tell TIM to stuff it.  Add to that the loyalty of the crew and even EDI it's unlikely TIM  could take that away easily.

Also, given the two year time gap, I wonder if the Normany SR1 wasn't just a prototype but rather the first of a new class of frigate.  That may be unlikely given the SR1 was destroyed thus leaving the Alliance in doubt as to its stealth capabilities let alone the cost.

Agree.  They found one reaper and promptly lost their entire science team to indoctrination effects.  TIM is just another Saren waiting to happen.

Yes you could tell TIM to stuff it and thusly could turn over that tech to the Alliance.  But it would be in time.  Cerberus would get there first no matter what.

I wish you could've at least suggested turning the base over to the Alliance/Council. I know it's impossible, but I just would've liked to see that conversation go down.

"Let's give it to the Council!"

TIM: "Let's not."

"Let's give it to the Alliance!"

TIM: "Let's not."

"We're giving it to the Council or the Alliance or I'm blowing it up!"

TIM: "You're going to blow it up anyway! I can see it in your eyes!"

"CHOOSE, CANCER MAN!!"

Yeah, one would have to assume that Cerberus has the Alliance infiltrated to some degree and would intercept and/or somehow prevent such a tech transfer.

I know Shepard can seem like an idiot but this is really overkill

I never destroyed the Collector Base, no matter how good or bad Shepard is.
I have no problems with Cerberus having the base.
"The Council" doesn't believe you.
The Systems Aliance doesn't believe you and thinks you are a traitor.
Cerberus or rather the Illusive Man believes you, risks a fortune, brings you back from death, and is behind you every step of the way, irrelevant of how you go about your goals.

I just hope the decisions made in ME1 and ME2 have a major impact on ME3 like have different plots and subplots which wasn't really seen ME2.

My Shepard is paragade and usually tries to make the most pragmatic and strategically valid decisions...

But he really hates TIM. So he blew up the base.

Akuze, ****.

I must find my amusement some way.

If it's not this it's me drawing mustaches and glasses and nose hair on various game characters and then scanning the images in.

I do what I must to prevent the worst.

So you do horrible things to keep you doing from horrible things?

Makes sense.

More like ridiculous things to keep me from doing ridiculous things.

Makes less sense.

Hell I woudn't be suprised if he is possessed by Harbinger and is forced to do his doing.  I mean look at him, he has these implants in his eyes and the way he stares is pretty creepy.

Hmm, as far as I understand, the only tech needed to reach the base is an IFF. Which is, currently, on Normandy. So, whoever it is given to could reach the base, and those who don't have IFF - can't.

If you see the ending where Shepard dies, Cerberus have already launched ships to that location.  Which would make it seem like they already had the IFF and that the one you picked up was the prototype.

As far as I know, it wasn't. I remember hearing a news report mentioning several frigates of Normandy class.

Um no, back to grade 1 for reading (and quoting within context) but hey.

So, do you have an actual point or argument to make, or just coping with the sand?

I suppose I wish that Shepard could destroy the base for reasons other than, "I won't let fear compromise who I am."

I know. Such a stupid line. I wish they would've let you say the stuff you really wanted to say.

"Shepard, why are you destroying the base?! We must keep it!!"

"Dude, this is your face right now."

I liked the line. But much more I would have liked just to say I didn't trust anyone with this kind of technology, let alone CERBERUS.

Sure, good point. But the "points" and "arguments" were already made.... not my fault if he strips the context and argues only against that ??
