Why do people destroy the Collector base?

That, and too tear into the new people who come in bearing arguments that both sides have long since laughed aside.

We already knew you wanted that.
Lol, how was that a cheap shot?
The fact that we're all selective is exactly what I'm trying to say. We all want our decision to be the right one. So what's the use of saying "I hope you guys get screwed over?" I enjoy hearing logical arguments, not redundancies.

No! Everyone else but me are selective. My opinions are truth, not opinions. I know the objective truth because my logic feels right for me. This makes me feel smarter than everyone else.Nightwriter wrote...

Just joking of course. I agree with you. We are all selective. There is no such thing as objectivity.
Back to topic: Blowing up the base makes a big fun explosion! That is one of many reasons that are logical enough for me.

And blue is Paragon...
And Paragon is good...
So the Renegade decision is actually the better explosion!

He's lost too much to give TIM the satisfaction. Of course just about any right minded Shepard would preserve the base.

Plus everyone loves a big bang right?
Renegade - Fancy blue electrical field that kills all life on station. TIM happy. And... that's it.
Paragon - Station turns into giant grenade with debris flying for hundreds of thousands of km creating a wake of utter devastation. TIM attempts to use version of Bill Cosby argument ("I brought you into this world..."). Aw hells yeah.

They would build their own version of a relay. Doesnt mean the Reapers didnt make theirs in a smoothy machine. Reapers build ships in a smoothy machine, we build ours differently.Barquiel wrote...

Show of hands. How many people actually think that the Illusive Man and his posse of two hundred odd people are going to kidnap millions, if not billions, of people to build a single reaper in the face of the Reaper hoarde that approaches?

That's not my point at all, my point is that IN REAL LIFE (i.e. NOT "acting") people in positions of authority who partake in corrupt/sketchy opportunities to save time/effort will not achieve outcomes as effectively as those who do what is lawful and expected of them. When I was an unarmed inspector for the department of health, we occasionally had to deal with jackasses who wouldn't let us in to inspect saying "what are you going to do? you don't carry." We would then have to contact law enforcement, wait around in some sketchy area in the middle of Februrary, etc... So to make life easier, one inspector at my agency started carrying his own gun on him so he could play cop on his inspections and get things done quicker. He ended up getting jumped from behind on an inspection and shot in the leg by his own gun. On top of that, since my agency was partly funded by Federal grants, he was charged for a Federal felony for possessing an unlicensed weapon on Federal property (his government vehicle...) Woo-hoo, go renegades!
:innocent:
Actually this story completely distracted me from the debate topic. Jeez, did your friend end up all right?
He wasn't a friend, he was a rotten guy to be honest. I really miss that job though... There were only like 20 of us in the state and once a month during the summer we'd set up week long operation in a specific region of the state and go around with the state police basically citing the living hell out of problem areas (usually bars in sketchy areas that also have other illegal activity going on, so law enforcement likes this because they bring along liquor authority, fire fighters, tax and finance, you name it... By the end of the morning a place would be so knee-deep in poo that it rarely stayed in business. But anyway, these were good times because the whole week we'd usually all chip in and lodge at a nice hotel, go play golf, fish, etc. off work hours. Good bunch of guys, hard working and really good at their jobs... This one guy though, yeah he wasn't really well-liked. The problem with civil service sometimes is that the guy with the best exam score -- even if he's a total f-up -- has to be hired, especially if they're veterans like this dude was. Even more off-topic, I highly recommend regulatory work for anyone who's in college or whatever with no idea what to do in the future like I was in college... It's good work, pretty safe from bad economy, lots of travel and meeting people, sort of like being a police officer only way way less risk of getting shot/attacked/screamed at/spat on...

- Salvage the already built T-800.
- Start splicing Reaper tech into people and machines.
- Use indoctrination/mind control technology on others (Reapers, non-humans, whatever).
- Try to harness husk technology again.
- Try to use Collector drones.
- Try to use Collector cruisers.
- Try to use Collector gene manipulation technology.
- Try to use Collector plague research.

Okay, that's a pretty reasonable expectation. I honestly just can't deal with the immediate windfall of the collector base decision (namely all your squad mates treating you like an idiot post-mission).

Well on the bright side his pride had to have been taken down a few notches by getting shot with his own gun.

Besides, who was it who said that a good man who acts only on the approval of others is not truly a good man?
Mind you, I would have liked there to be a wider array of views about the base and reactions afterwards, from both directions. (And perhaps some surprise explorations of various character morality in general.) So while, say, Legion is on the 'make your own path' fence, Mordin would be like 'logical choice.'
