Oh, of course nationalism has never led to anything bad before.

Everything has lead to something bad at some point. The world is imperfect. Nationalism is what made this country prosperous, it's what made it a global super power.

Seriously, do you know how I felt in the game when I found out TIM had found an actual Reaper - and he didn't tell the Council?

I had been trying so hard to convince the Council the Reapers are real, to mobilize them, and the situation was starving for evidence of the Reapers' existence. And here TIM had a serious piece of evidence right here that at the very least would make the Council do a double-take, and he didn't tell them because he wanted it all to himself?

Who knows how TIM's insatiable desire to hoard and monopolize galactic-critical information will hurt us this time.

The base must die.

The Council isn't suppose to know, that's how the writers intended it to be.  They are portrayed as idiots, oblivious to the obvious, to give Shepard and the Normandy more importance in the story.  It shrinks the galaxy down to the Normandy.

No. The Great Depression and World War 2 led to us becoming a superpower.

Our country wasn't ravaged by war and we didn't enter it right away, instead we sat on the sidelines and profited on both sides killing each other. As a result  we had a decade or so headstart on the other nations when it came to rebuilding.

Our nation grew at the same time that everyone else was shrinking.

Eh, sorry. I'm a history nut.

The Council doesn't know because the Council races each scrambled to steal as much of Sovereign's wreckage for themselves as they could. If you gave them the Collector base they'd do the same thing.

There's a difference between real history and the history you choose to remember Shand, I would call it Beckian but you would just call me an idiot again because you don't watch Glenn Beck.

No, but they spout the most inane nonsense about 'child corruption' and how the left-wing are channeling Soviet Russia.

I kept the base. Don't have much of a problem with working with Cerberus either. I'd expect both choices to have some sort of outcome/outcomes that will bite you in the butt.

Christ on a bike, American politics are a mess. The right is full of fearful idiots and the left isn't left enough.

Because the only people who are going to do anything with it is Cerberus, and who knows what they're going to use the technology for.

I would say the problem with American politics is that both sides of the spectrum are doing everything in their power to strangle everyone with bigger, more invasive government.

Do you have a permit for that? -motto for my state (or it should be)

I agree. Here in Australia, politics are simple.

'Liberal' party = far-right, incompetent.
Labor party = centre-left, a bit less incompetent but slow as hell
Greens party = left, some good ideas but nobody likes them
Family First party = Christian centre-right, largely ignored

Yeah, I don't know why we call our right-wing party 'Liberal' these days. :?

And tbh, that's what it's really about for pro-Cerberus... go luck! I am not pro-Cerberus.

"whatever they can grab and hold to" - imo that's not the endgame, that's called losing sight of the real game: living a life beyond what you can "grab"... Cerberus = "I want lotsa stuff for me!!!!"

Ah yes, "TIM is a hoarder", we had not considered that claim.
One more reason for galactic exile for TIM.

I kept the station the second playthrough.  When I saw TIM's look though I kinda thought to myself, "Aww **** me dude.  This d-bag is gonna do something dumb with it in ME3!"

In light of this situation I am forced to wonder what would prevent Shep from telling the alliance about the station and getting some people there through the Omega-4 Relay on his Normandy.  In order to balance out the playing field.  I've tried to do what I could without upsetting the balance of power in the galaxy throughout the game, leaving me with a relatively neutral character.

I have not at this moment explored the proposed option above.  I am about to in 5 minutes.  Perhaps Bioware left the option in the game to tell the alliance.  If not, I strongly feel that this should either be put into a DLC or at the very least, have it made part of an option at the beginning of ME3 much like how Miranda asks you questions at the beginning of ME2.

Am I crazy here for this idea?

Yes you are crazy for the idea.

The alliance is just as worse as Cerberus is, perhaps even more since they can't do ****.

The Illusive Man played the Alliance like they fools they are on Horizon.
