Question: Why use a Reaper AI when a thousand regular AIs will do the same job?

Reapers are just mechanical hive minds.

This depends on how much we know about Reaper A.I.'s. EDI was developed from the remenants of one, but building a complete one would teach us a lot more.

I changed my mind though. Elcor may be politically weak but they inhabit high gravity worlds, which would make abduction costly.

We'll go for vorcha. They're everywhere and most people will be glad when they start disappearing, assuming they even notice.

Are you still making the case for Cerberus or did you switch to showing us why Humans can't be trusted with dominance and TIM can't be trusted witht he base.

That said, I haven't seen Avatar. Way too much liberal white guilt just in the trailer and promotional material for that movie....

I'll get us back on topic.

Let me think of something I think will inflame Shand the most.

... Right, got it:

If there had been an option to give the base to the true geth for joint study instead, I'd have done it.

I thought giving it to the council would have gotten him riled up enough, that and joining hands with all of the races and sing Kumbahya

If you destroy the base, you prevent an extremist from getting Collector Tech, even though you don't know how he'll use it. If you keep it, you take the risk of Cerberus using it for themselves and humanity more than using the valuable technology to stop the Reapers.

No, no, no.  Try this instead:

If there had been an option to give the base to the Asari Republics for their sole use, I'd have done it.  I'd have also wholeheartedly endorsed a mass PR campaign to encourage human-Asari bonding had that option been offered.

... It's a station where you can pretty much build a god with legos. You so sure handing that over to one man, let alone the Citadel Council is such a good idea?

Sure, we let Communist Russia help us defeat Hitler's Germany - but what the hell did you expect to happen afterwards? Peace and lollipops?

I didn't realize N-A-Z-I was a censored word. Curious.

Well I had used the geth in my example because they would be at the least amount of risk of indoctrination from the base and thus the most fit to study it.

Now I realize the base should be handed over to the geth and the asari during a geth and human and asari PR campaign rally to encourage human-asari bonding and organic-synthetic relations.

If you give it to geth though you'll never see any benefits from it because the geth are very stingy when it comes to sharing technology. After all, the most they are willing to give you is a damned sniper rifle.

I don't know what's worse - making the generalization that the geth are all stingy based on limited interaction with one of their number in very dire circumstances, or the hypocrisy of a Cerberus supporter accusing another group of being stingy about withholding technology.

But have you seen that sniper rifle? Bad. Ass.

Nightcrawler, don't bother. Shand is pretty much anti-geth. In fact, that's why I thought you mentioned the geth in the first place.

If you've met one geth you've met them all.

Not technically true, in Legion's case.

I say, who is this Nightcrawler person? I am getting fuzzy memories of the X-men...

Let me rephrase that.

You meet one heretic and you've met all the heretics. You meet one "true" geth and you've met all "true" geth.

Yes.

I've always wondered how a simple difference in physical perspective can lead to the geth - who are supposed to be all identical - having different opinions about something.

Since when has Geth been synonymous with "Cylon"?
