Specializations, any affections to the party and/or storyline?

Ok I have a question concerning the story line. I'm a big fan of Never winter Nights, and its latest installment blew me away. Nearly every turn you took changed something in the story; same with Star Wars: KOTOR. However, in Dragon Age, I saw a lot of hatred to different characters in the game because of their respective actions, like specializing in sub-classes.

In games like this I always pick mage as first class. Warriors bores me, but Bioware, did a fine job making the class appealing (phenomenal animations, but enough with that), and if there are factions, Good/bad, I always pick the bad side and thrive of the effects that my actions brings forth. By picking Blood Mage as a sub-class, alas, bad side; I must say I was a little disappointed, since it didn’t change the story line nor how the characters looks at you. Does any specializing alter the story in some way? Or is it strictly for game play only?

note: Don't get me wrong, Blood Mage is a great class. What's not  more fun than controlling your foes as  mere puppets, or strangeling **** loads of enemies  in your path?

Sincerely

Zach

I don';t think it affects the story at all. How you get some of those specialisation classes (2 of them) does however.

I'm fairly certain Wynne leaves the group if you choose blood mage if she hasn't already

Never got Wynne on my first playthrough. Nor the rouge woman and the bonus party mate. No idea where to get them. hopefully, I'll find them on the next playthrough as a warrior (yes me as a warrior in a WRPG, amasing right? :P)

Yes. I think the reaver option might make Leliana and Wynn try to kill you even, if they were in your party.

Leliana is in the tavern in Lotherian. You can't miss her if you just walk in there.

Another reason to play the game again then. Now I even want to replay NWN2 with its respective expansions. That with Dragon Age; Bye bye social life :P

No "might" about it.  I decided to unlock Reaver since I was there (and to see how tough that ghost was) with both Wynn and Lilliana in my party and at 100 approval.  In fact, Lilliana and I had completed the romance, even.

Both were so horrified that they turned on Allister and me and tried their level best to assist the ghost in rendering me down to soup stock.

I don't know about Wynne, but Lelliana will ask and you can lie to her.
