If anyone from the Bioware company reads this, someone really needs to put out a patch that fixes this achievement. I have beat the Darkspawn Chronicles over a dozen times meeting the prerequisites for the achievement, but it's a no-go. I have tried deleting all of the save files and beating it again. That didn't work. I even put in Awakening, downloaded the update again and then tried it. It still didn't work. This is the only achievement I have left in the game so it's a bit frustrating. Please fix it soon. Anyone else out there in the Dragon Age community having the same issue?

Is this for the X-Box 360 version? Not that it would matter, well maybe.

Try playing as the ogre. I know for some reason you loose your first ogre in the first part of the game right after the eleven level I think. But if you thrall a new one from the next level after freeing them and use it. I think it just has to live through the final battle once its in your group to get the achievement.

I wasn’t paying attention the first time through and don’t know if my ogre died at all which prevents you from getting it I believe. I reloaded from an earlier save after beating it and tried again this time controlling the ogre almost all the time. I got the achievement this way.

Hope this helps.

I have it for the 360. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the feedback, but I already know how to get it and I've done it right every time. It's a problem with the game that needs an update. Really I just posted this in hopes that in the off chance Bioware doesn't realize the problem, that someone will work on a patch to get it fixed as soon as possible.

Well I wish you luck at getting a response from a BioWare rep at the very least. Lord knows how bugged Dragon Age Origins and Awakenings are. A full sized patch to fix everything would be nice instead of a new download that adds to the problem.

Sooooo... anyone have a surefire solution to this problem? I've gone through it about five times trying different combinations of things, but nothing works. BioWare? Hello?

Same problem with me, played it twice but still no trophy :(

I heard on PS3trpohies forum that you need to delete all saved games related to the DLC and play again, and NOT load any autosaves. I will try that today, hope it works.

For those who end up enthralling the wrong ogre, make a manual save just before you exit the Elven Alienage. When you see your ogre trapped behind the door, make sure it trying to bang down the gates and not simply standing there. If it's standing, and you can entrall it from behind the barrier, you have glitched and need to re-load. If it's banging the door and you can't enthrall it, then you have not glitched and should proceed to free him.

I got lucky and got the achievement on my first and only playthrough (xbox 360).

Are most people loading autosaves and etc.? I did this in one run, though I did have to reload several times when going up against Sten. He has an army with him.

This issue doesn't seem to have anything to do with actually keeping the ogre alive, though during my playthrough, I did make sure to keep an eye on them and their health. Everyone else was expendable, minus the emissary who's healing was definitely needed.

Same problem with my PC version. Although I have finished with ogre alive at the end and the achievement shows in my player profile right afterwards, it dissapears soon afterwards from the profile again after going onto another campaign/DLC. Did all the usual saves and restart options. Same problem each time.

You have to enthrall the ogre (the first time you meet him) before the "save the ogre" quest is completed. Run over to where the ogre spawns first as you start the game and wait. then, as soon as he appears and the guards are attacking him, enthrall him. He should have an injury (that's fine, heal it with the injury kit found in-between the barricades). Also, my ogre's approval WAS NOT at 100%. The second time you enthrall him, kill everybody in sight before opening the gate (make sure all the enemies are dead up till the barricaded staircase). Then open the gate. Enthrall the first ogre you see immediately. If your ogre's approval was, say, 80%, it will still be at 80%. Then finish the game like normal and make sure he doesn't die AT ALL. If he dies, you cannot reload, you have to delete the saved game and start over. It will pop at the start of the credits. (DO NOT skip the credits just in case). This works as of June 13, 2012. Hope this helps
