I have nothing against black people, I just don't think they very good superhero heroes.
People associate them with crime and whiny foul talk, thanks to Spike Lee and Sixty cent.

Omg'd I didn't even see you post that! Lol!

Really terrible....

a huge difference between sarcasm and racism...report away!

There is no difference. Intention doesn't matter in this case. Posting comments like that is enough for a ban, whether intended humorously or not. Consider that a warning. (And the same goes for you, Rubbish Hero.)

as you wish, but sarcasm is a far cry from rasicm,I've experienced the later first hand...have you?

Being a triple minority? You bet I have. It doesn't matter if a comment is meant as sarcastic. Posting stereotypical remarks about an ethnic group is no-no here, period. That's the last I will write on this matter.

Don't make very good superheroes? This list is just from the comics I read:

DC: Black Lightning, Mr. Terrific, the current Firestorm, John Stewart Green Lantern, Steel, Jakeem Thunder, Cyborg

Marvel: Storm, Bishop, Black Panther, Luke Cage, Blade, Patriot, Cloak, Brother Voodoo, Deathlok, Falcon, Rocket Racer, Night Thrasher, Photon, War Machine, Ultimate Nick Fury, Prowler

Other: Spawn, Agent 355, Battalion, King peacock, Ambrose Chase, Micro-Maid, Jack-in-the-Box, Promethea

Spider-Man 3 is popularly knocked for its emo Peter Parker scenes, but what made it intolerable for me were its contrivances. Harry Osborn seeking revenge on Spidey for the supposed murder of his father in the first movie was the biggest one. In the last quarter of Spider-Man 3, his assistant tells him it couldn't have been Spidey based on the wounds Norman Osborn sustained, and that he knew this all along. At that point I wondered why he didn't share that information early on in the last movie, you know, to give the bloodthirsty revenge driven son closure? Because the plot needed him to remain silent, of course. Feh.

I won't even get into the retcon mania of how Sandman's background played into Ben Parker's death or the way Venom and his suit were handled. I agrree. They had too many subplots and made a mess in trying to resolve them all. The Deus Ex Machina was working on overdrive in that movie.

That said, Batman and Robin was still worse.

In regards to the bit I bolded.

Skip to 3:40 if you don't want to watch the whole thing, but I highly recommend that you watch the whole thing since its so amusing, plus it makes note of many of the other things you mention such as the Venom mask.

Call it racism, call it what you want. But here's a point: Imagine the uproar if they turned a black character white.

in the Night of the Living Dead 3D remake, they made Ben white. i don't recall any uproar. then again, i doubt it did very well, and it's probably a good thing i haven't seen it.

Speaking of Spawn, the actor who played as Spawn in the movie, Michael Jai White might make a good Spiderman.

Unlike that wussbag from the other movies, Michael Jai White is a true martial artist who could perform his own stunts.

These are d-list superhero's for the most part.
About the only decent ones there are Blade and Spawn.

He's no Batman or Superman.
If you want to be a big league superhero, you must be white or slightly Native American like The New Adventures Of Superman. Other than that, black superhero's tend to turn people off unless they are spouting cool lines like a black person with attitude . i.e some mother uppers always trying to skate uphill... Now that Wesley Snipes is in prison confounding the stereotype, the decent black heroes are all but done.

They could re-boot spawn I suppose, reboots is all the rage these days.

I recall a rumour many, many years back that Robin in "Batman: Returns" would be black.
Turns out he was Chris O' Donnell. I know the original 1989 movie was suppose to be a campy comedy with Eddy Murthy as Robin and that man from Ghostbusters as Batman.

So....what exactly?

A movie based off an X-man like say.....Jubilee....would be bad because she's not Cyclops or Wolverine?

It might surprise you to know that not everyone drools over the supposed "leaders" in the comic world. I for one enjoy Justice League for the simple fact that characters like Green Lantern or Wonder Woman are featured just as much as the supposed big players like Batman and Superman.

While that's true, blockbuster movies get made for money.
We are talking about Spiderman here, not some niche cult superhero.

Punisher is what I would consider a niche cult superhero and they made a very successful movie out of him.

So they're pushing for a nerdy black spiderman? Im sorry but most black guys have curly/short hair and Peter Parker has a bit long hair, not that much but... you know.

Next thing you know the stunt guy for Spidey is black meanwhile Peter Parker (the face of Spiderman) is white. And tecnicly they would have followed the requests. My response would be you were pushing racist with racist so you got a racist response.

Keep in mind that the really iconic super heroes were coined when when race was a serious issue. The hero of truth, justice, and the American way could not be a black man, because everyone was racist back then and such a thing simply was not done. Remember that Ohura being a black woman and a military officer in Star Trek back in the 60's was a really big deal.

With that in mind, the black super heroes that we have now, like Spawn, the Green Lantern, and Blade, are quite a big deal. They just never had the opportunity to become as huge as heroes like Batman or Superman.

Spidey can't be black because he was originally white. They did however do it to Green Lantern.

If I remember correctly, the Green Lantern was retconed into being black for the Justice League cartoon, but that it was made into an official character in the comics later. The Green Lantern has been more than one person as time has gone on, after all.

Indeed. He (John Stewart) was a comic book character long before the cartoon was produced. He was orginally introduced as Hal Jordan's backup after Guy Gardner was seriously injured in a battle or some such.

In fact, there is an episode of the cartoon where John Stewart and Hawkgirl meet up with some of the GL Corps to do superhero stuff. I'm pretty sure either Kyle Raynor and/or Hal Jordan were present.

Ah, thank you for actually explaining instead of just being an [donkey] with a one word smart [donkey] response.. It's much appreciated. I'm not so well versed in the details of DC comics.
