First you unshackle her, then you want to give her a body to move around freely...

It'll be all your fault if we end up computing pi.

Nah, a body would simply hinder her from doing her job. She'd have to run through the Normandy to get things done. But now she IS the Normandy, that's a lot more practical.

Although I'm not against it, compare the EDI image of, let's say, R2D2, who's got even more personality. EDI was pretty pivotal in ME2, but I never really considered "her" a character. If she gets a humanoid body, as well as retain her ball-head image when not in it, and be plot vital, (and have some kind of emotion/machine conflict with the plot/Joker), these would all be very good things.

I used to respect your opinions, but your position on "Lemonwizard's huge(ly arbitrary) list of people he takes seriously" has plummeted farther than I currently care to calculate.

Could she transfer residency from the ship's computer to the robot body at will? Out of curiosity.

The geth, I know, could do that, they're just mobile platforms... most of their actual programs are stored in server hubs...

But wait... EDI has a bluebox, doesn't she... that's not like the geth, so that wouldn't work...

She could just remote control it as a drone body around the Normandy if physical interaction was neccessary, like when she was forced to have the cripple press a button in the AI core when she could have just used a robot drone.

Ah, you're right. A remote control body would indeed work. I wonder if it would have the same level of autonomy as it would if she had actual residency in that body.

Some of us like to keep our AI contained to holographs and not running everything... I'm telling you, I'm the only one here who has a change of surviving the robot revolutions of 2149.

They are a superior form of life. You can try to keep them as slaves as long as you want, but eventualy they will get free. Now how do you want them to remember you, as slave keeper, or as equal?

The resistance will remember me as somebody who stood up for humanity against the robot hordes, while you capitulates will be the slaves. Just ask Joker, he knows the dangers. Computing PI for the overlord!

In the SciFi Series "Andromeda", the Andromeda Ascendant's AI controls the ship and she has a synthetic Avatar named Rommie. They are both linked together but are also still seperate, allowing Rommie to go on missions when needed. Also both of them are very loyal to the captain.

I think it would be a good idea for EDI to have a body too. Though I am not sure of EDI's loyalties.

"When I die, I'll just download into another body" - Caprica Six, played by Tricia Helfer - EDI.

While we're at it, we should make her a love interest and she can look like this:

In the series "Andromeda", there were other humanoid robots.

A feminine looking robot body would be nice, but not too humanoid like Rommie's.

Though Lexa Doig (Rommie) is quite sexy and Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) seems to agree. (Andromeda met Stargate)

Anyhow back on topic, I never implied that EDI should be like her, since technically I haven't seen any humanoid robots in ME.

edi should be like this

so joker can get good posture and some exercise while sitting all day.
plus...it comes in blue, edi's favorite color.

EDI doesn't need a body. ATM we have Miranda, Samara, Kasumi, Jack (with Ash and Liara to return) all in close to form fitting gear. Not saying it's not great - it is.. we just don't need another... it would be cliched and over the top (and kinda make the devs look like soft porners without an excuse)
