EDI doesn't need a body. ATM we have Miranda, Samara, Kasumi, Jack (with Ash and Liara to return) all in close to form fitting gear. Not saying it's not great - it is.. we just don't need another... it would be cliched and over the top (and kinda make the devs look like soft porners without an excuse)
Ash would likely return wearing Heavy armor again, screw form fitting gear like Miranda, Samara, or Jack. Kasumi's armor was form fitting but that is expected for Stealth Gear, that needs to lean toward maximum flexability. You don't want a Max Dex Modifier (Like there was in KOTOR and other D&D based games), and yes in the final battle of KOTOR when my Dex was way above the cap of the best armor; so my rendition of Raven beat down Malik while running around in his underwear. Maybe that is why Bioware has your squad in form fitting Armor, well all except those of Soldier Archtype. As for a roving Avatar for EDI, could be a good thing. We could have two EDI's, EDI we all know whom controls the ship, the other Controlling the Avatar. She could still act like the EDI we know, but a little more independent yet loyal to the crew. If I remember Andromada right both the ship's AI and Avatar where the same but different. Kind of like the Ship was the mother or older sister while the Avatar was the Child or younger sister. Cause I do remember some intresting acting between the two.
