Talking to him is interesting, though.

Loghain also is the best source of more personal information of Anora and her youth, if that interests you.
Some of this stuff he says just gets me rolling.

Loghain is one of the deepest charachters in Dragon Age, if you read the books and play the game you see an amazing charachter. Has elements of tradegy, evil, redemption, and betryal. One of the most similar parallels is Macbeth if you have ever read it.
I saw a dick who's obsessed with sticking it to the Orlesians no matter the cost to Ferelden.

It totally changed my view on him. To be honest, you should read Gaider´s Dragon Age books either way because they´re awesome.

'Tis funny....I remember you being the most vocal member against him in the Loghain defense thread. As in incredibly vocal.

I still see his actions at Ostagar and afterwards as treason.
But before I thought of him as a stupid ass.
Now I see him as a former hero who sacrificed everything - including his own wishes and dreams - for Ferelden and continues to do so because he believes it best. I do also think that his past sufferings may not have been good for his mental condition.
I wonder what would have become of Loghain if he could have married the woman he loved instead of sacrificing his love for the country.
Personally I think he could have become the perfect ruler instead of a traitor.

Perhaps he should have let Maric step down and become King himself after Meghren was killed. Seems like something Maric would have done had Kathriel not been killed, well with her treachery still revealed that is.

You know....me and KoP basically shouted the same thing you just posted. Shrug, doesn't matter now either way, as long as you see him for who he is rather some preconceptions.
Not exactly. For example, you defended what he does to the elves on the basis that sacrificing them is reasonable. I do still disagree with that. Instead it makes me sad because Loghain´s use of the Night elves in the war against Orlais showed that he used NOT to be racist - rather, more tolerant towards elves than most other Fereldans.

Wow, I didn't think I could despise the guy even more but it's possible. <_<Costin_Razvan wrote...
I don't think he is racist about it....if you confront him in camp about the slavers ( as in choose the response: If despise you, it's because you deserve, then call him a slaver ) then he will simply and bluntly tell you that the army you have now, could have been three times the size had the Tevinters not been stopped...and then he asks you: "What is better, for the elves to be sold into slavery? Or for them to remain in the Alienage with no hope?"
What kind of army is he talking about? Mercenaries?

I guess the Alienage....
But my point is: The "Stolen-Throne"-Loghain would have recruited elves as soldiers, thus improving their life conditions, increasing his army AND giving the elves a chance to earn their freedom at once. After all, the Night Elves were the most feared Fereldan unit in the War.....
