What I said doesn't necessarily mean that Liara is mourning or unhappy. She's just remembering Shepard, and honouring her memory.
For example, I could see Liara doing something like ascending to a powerful and influential position in asari society, and then trying to influence asari culture and psyche into adopting the very human trait of accomplishing things at a much faster rate, rather than being ponderous and conservative in their approach to certain situations. Things that Liara would view as a virtue of humanity after spending so much time with them.
There are many constructive and happy ways in which Liara could remember Shepard by!
