Tonight I was feeling saucy however with my Human Noble Rouge and Howe's comeback just FLOORED me. I mean... Andraste's Flaming Sword! He made my mother kiss his FEET in front my daddy?!I am just... wow.
With me he just remarked "is there where I'm supposed confess my regret for creating a monster?" or something to that effect.

After that he says something like 'Let me show you how it's done. I made your mother kiss my feet before she died. It was the last thing your father saw. Meet my sword and change that.' I swear, true or not, it was the perfect comeback.thegreateski wrote...

As much as I hate to say it. It's badass.
Just this "Let me show you how it's done".

I found it sad that Howe dies so quickly. Usually I´m opposed to torture but for him I think making an exception would be appropriate.
Despite the fact that I hate him more than I hate most fictional characters, I just absolutely can't do that. He should have been left to rot in his jail cell during the attack of Denerim, and if he survived, thrown in jail.
Torturing him makes you no different than him.

Yeah, considering Howe was mercilessly ambitious and excessively greedy, it would be appropriate for him to spend the last decades of his life in a squalid cell.

At this point, I doubt a lot of HN are really looking to take the high road here. They could still be different by not going after his family but does it really matter if someone came along later and declared that they 'weren't so differen't after all'? They just want vengeance.Kryyptehk wrote...

How would this make me any better than Howe? It would not, as a matter of fact it would make me just like Howe for a moment with one major difference, he is getting what he deserves, Howes victims did not. Oh man i can see why the developers made him die quick, the Marquis de Sade would be a rank amateur if i was allowed to play with Howe for awhile. I would be more kind to a darkspawn in the same circumstances as i expect no humanity from them, but Howe is human and deserves no mercy for forgetting that. The last thing he would experience before he died is his humanity.

It is not about being better. What matters is that he should have a chance to regret his actions. If you just kill him he doesn´t have enough time for that.

Howe is an opportunistic lickspitttle and a monster and as such has surrenderd his right to be considered a part of humanity. I to am disappointed that i could not toss Howe on a rack and give it a few turns. Maybe a red hot poker in a nether place, maybe the slow removal of his genetalia cauterized with hot iron to prevent him from bleeding out. His screams of pain would be music, and i the conductor in my symphony of slow agonizing death, I would need time, i am about to compose a masterpiece to rival the masters themselves.

This. And being "better" than someone is hardly as satisfying when they are the bastard who murdered your baby nephew, sister-in-law, mother, father, friends, guards, cook, servants, etc. for the ambition of ruling your lands.

I doubt torture is going to make Howe regret any of his actions. He'll just curse you and be that much gladder he murdered your family.Tirigon wrote...

I did not read through the hole thread, Just untill I reached this post. And the Warden and Alistair look beautifull.. Why can the Xbox not have this quality? I bought a HD TV just for Dragon Age and it is not half as good as this.. :<sylvanaerie wrote...
Nathaniel is nothing like his father (which was a nice surprise for my HNF when I played Awakenings). I usually pick the persuade/intimidate option during the Howe confrontation in Denerim. Much more satisfying to watch the bastard quake in his boots at 'the Cousland glare' you got from dear ole Dad.
The last thing Howe sees in my games:
Anyway, Ontopic.. Revenge only leads to misery and self-hatred.
