In all seriousness though, I would rather have Mass Effect remain a shooter/RPG hybrid, it makes the game more compelling both combat and story wise for me.
I know most people here would disagree, but I'm mainly a FPS and TPS player before an RPG player, so I like the shooter elements. =P

Yes I see. One problem though, in my skimming of the OP I seemed to have missed you mention that in ME3 your only squad mate should be Ash, complete with 6 pokemon of your choice.

All these nerds, geeks, fanboys and fangirls posting on a BioWare fan forum with their silly BioWare avatars and silly BioWare character signatures for their BioWare character support threads. There's so many of them!SuperMedbh wrote...

Pokemon has flourished because it takes a type of game that many people really like, the JRPG, and does a good job with that genre in a mobile family friendly format that has existed ever since 1998. Basically it's good fun distraction while on the go for those who like stratigic JRPG's. The appeal of pokemon is neither the story, (which is almost nonexistant,) the making of moral choices that affect the world around you (completely nonexistant,) or being part of a believable immersive world.
Mass Effect is more about an epic story line, and making different choices that will influence your game universe. Also Mass Effect is completely (with the exception of a single bad Iphone game) a home console game and an M rated one at that.
These differences do not make one more of an RPG than the other, it just makes them RPG with different focus. Pokemon focus of stragic turn base gameplay, collecting, grinding and leveling up with Mass Effect's is on story telling, making moral choices and intense fast pased stragic squad based gameplay.
I do agree with some points that Ecael brought up. I see a need in Mass Effect to have some equipment choices be an actual choice instead of Gun B is better that Gun A therefore I will stick with Gun B. That was sort of done with the Geth Pule Rifle vs the Battle Rifle and the Locus SMG vs. the Tempest SMG I would like to see more of this. I also believe that the loading screens were a step back from the devices used in ME1 the need the enter/exit your ship via the loading bay, the cut scenes of the Normandy dropping the Mako and yes even the elevators, these elements kept you in the game world while the loading screens and mission summary screens only pulled you out of it.

From this:
Morality & Squad Banter in ME3 -- Building Consensus.1
I actually have three more of those threads I want to make, fresh with more ideas and 'shopped pictures using some of the suggestions I've listed in the original post. The problem is figuring out a way of presenting all those ideas without a giant wall of text.
I'm also working on an ME2 guide that some may find very helpful...

Fandom complains about the inventory, largely on the basis that it's annoying to manage and a bit too large?
-Bioware removes the inventory completely, from Shepard AND squaddies.
Fandom complains about the mako?
-Bioware removes mako, replacing it with a gimmicky hovertank...

As I said Ecael, people are more willing to read a wall of text if you break it up into small bite sized sections and thrown in some pictures.

I agree, just an better interface would have been far easier to do in my opinon. That was what really needed for the inventory, an much better interface.
The mako... was an milage may vary. I think I actually prefer the mako now instead of the hovertank.

The game critics were the ones who complained about the inventory, Mako and elevators. The inventory was replaced with an upgrade system, the Mako with the Hammerhead, and the elevators with stairs and detailed loading screens (although the Citadel Rapid Transit loading screen in Mass Effect 1 looked quite cool).Archereon wrote...

Then again, I'm one of those weird people who likes planet scanning...
Overall it makes more sense to stick to the same weapons and add stuff to them, than use 75 different weapons over the course of what, several months?
It's also explained exactly how you upgrade your guns (onboard tracking, for example). Ofcourse, this means you'll have to read more than the '10% damage increase' lines. I know reading is hard.
