well not sure what your problem is but you can disable graphics in defaultsettings.xml and see if the toolset load up fine without it. that will of course limit what you can do with the toolset.

but atleast that will tell us if it's only a graphic error or if you have screwed up your toolset even more.

also read your logfile to see what your error message is.

also post details such as OS and what processes your where killing.

well, guess i cant get anywhere else without graphics enabled, and the toolset wont allow me to create stuff.well , back to where i begin then. as i stated previously,i could open up toolset with graphics disabled, but cant do anything with it, and i enable graphics in that xml and that error message popping up just like it was used to be ,so i guess the problem lies on grapics card or sth similar, the weird thing is i could use it before, why not now? if it's all because of the termination of that damnable long-forgotten process, it should work right after i restart the pc,not even mention i reinstall the graphics driver. anyway, the problem is still there, i'm using window xp with service pack 3. the logfile shows these things:Thu Jun 03 15:47:46 2010, INFO, ".\\PluginAPI.cpp", 106, "Initializing toolset."

Thu Jun 03 15:48:00 2010, ERROR, ".\\Renderer.cpp", 225, "GameAssert: .\\MaterialObjectManager.cpp(220): Major error: cannot load the default material object!"

have you tried to reinstall the toolset? it's usually easier then fixing a problem.

sounds like a file might gone missing or that you have changed the access rights for a minor part of the toolset.

another thought. you do need PhysX drivers from nivida. so if you have killed them, that can be the reason. (it doesn't matter that your card is ATI).

Try to disable/temporarily move/clear your override folder(s) if you haven't already and see if the Toolset launches then. The Toolset seems to operate slightly different from the game and so a file which overrides existing important asset to the point where Toolset breaks won't necessarily affect the game in such manner, and vice versa. And it's pretty easy to create override files which replace default assets with something damaged and/or incomplete.

not quite understanding what u mean, if u r saying the override folder in my document/dragon age/package....folder, then i guess that wont be the problem, as i did also reinstall the whole game ,and that means override contained nothing, however , the problem was still the same...i'm kinda on the brink of giving up, this is all too much for me

I'm not sure if the content of override folder is fully cleaned by unistall procedure so it's worth to double-check if it's indeed empty. This includes also documents/dragon age/addins/ and documents/dragon age/modules/
