Heh! It seems this is true, probably because that's the only tent in camp with enough room to get cinematic-looking romance cutscenes out of. They could probably have solved that by making bigger tents, but that probably would have created another problem somewhere else.
On a more serious note, it's not uncommon in societies where people live in very close proximity for people to "look the other way," figuratively and literally. Here in the US, I've seen restorations of colonial-era settler's cabins, which were generally one room about the size of a small modern-era bedroom. I don't think families of 6 or 7 kids would have been as common as they were if people couldn't get used to "looking the other way"!
