Yay, the forum is working again! I've been missing it. I had the worst day ever and no Smirk to make it better. Until now. ^_____^

It looks like the Vigil yard or where you encounter Nathaniel if you let him go.

When I got through one time the cutscene of killing the mother kept repeating for, something around 10 times (kept hitting escape) after the credits.

I can't believe there's been wrestling talk in here and the Loghain thread! (See page 99). Synchronicity!

And here's Anders with a bit of a Rock eyebrow thing going on. (And a bonus Nathaniel).

*applause!*

Lovely!!

(and the hint of shirtlessness... hot.)

(and I don't think I could walk up 15 flights of stairs if I WANTED to. Lousy bad ankle... so to me, you practically ran a marathon!)

LupusYondergirl, I was too lazy to draw this... robes again. I hate them!!! Anders must be naked as often as possible.
He-he, when elevators are dead I'm glad that my house was build in the age of low ceilings.

I reminded Jenn that it was her turn!

@Miri I was hoping to get another prompt done for yours, but I've decided to fold it into my next chapter because it's almost a perfect fit.

I also just put together this over on the Anders Admirers group.

So, we have a list of the order of prompts.

And a collection of every prompt done so far.

Whew.

Very nice, Lupus! We should link to that at the start of every prompt cycle (and maybe a link in the first post of the thread?).

Good call. Whoever posts the prompt can add a reply with all the fills, too. So.... if everyone isn't a member... sign up. ;)

There's a list of Anders fics on there but it's not that up to date, either. We could probably link a LOT of stuff on there so everyone isn't constantly digging though thirty pages of old posts looking for something.

Slightly embarrassed about the end credits thing - luckily I worked it out eventually. On the plus side, finally finished my origins playthrough. I'm determined to save all the Anders conversation points. For some reason I haven't managed to do that yet! I'm a slack Anders fangirl.

Finally had a proper idea for The First prompt - but it's my Alim Surana and Anders rather than Neria and Anders this time. Should be up before I have to start thinking about the next one.

@Gala - HOT - I sooo love your Anders doodles. Soooo much!!!

Ok, here's my First prompt! This was just a quicky - set in the Caged universe rather than my usual Losses/Consequences/Of Wardens and Mages stuff.

The Highest Form of Flattery

The first time he saw Anders he thought he was... attractive, actually. Not that a Harrowed mage who was first in his class as a spirit healer - and presumably, interested in girls according to rumour (or according to Jowan, who had actually walked in on some pretty convincing evidence of that fact in a dark library corner one evening) would ever look twice at an elf who failed at the most basic healing skills.

The first time he heard about the escape attempts - or the escape successes - the man actually got out after all - the admiration turned into a full blown crush. The man was resourceful, powerful and made the Templars crazy. What was there not to like??

The first time he saw him defeated Alim had to stop himself from intervening. It was after the sixth attempt, the whispers were saying he'd got as far as Denerim before the Templars caught up with him. They hadn't been gentle. Alim was talking to Cullen in the entrance hall when the main doors opened. They had him trussed up between two of the least friendly Templars out there. He was stripped to the waist, bound and limp, soft blond strands of his hair escaping around his face. When Greagior and Irving arrived to see to him Anders threw up on their boots.

Alim couldn't help smiling at that, before Cullen ushered him out. The kind hearted Templar looked disturbed and Alim knew why he was never sent out to collect the Circle's frequent strays. He patted the man's steel covered shoulder. "Don't worry," he said. "Anders' is all right. He's a healer, remember?"

Cullen had nodded, and flushed - embarrassed to be caught out caring when he should have been pleased that the man was back where he'd been taught all mages belonged.

Poor Cullen, Alim had thought. One day this place is going to break him.

The first time Alim talked to Zevran he couldn't help remembering his Tower crush - the two of them were similar in many ways, although Zevran had so many hard edges - edges that Alim was twitching to smooth - to touch and mould.

He had plenty of opportunity to do that during the Blight.

Perhaps, if the Templars and Irving had finally managed to keep Anders in the Tower - perhaps the blond mage would grow some of those same edges.

One evening, in their now shared tent, Zevran offered to pierce his ear for him. The first touch of the needle made Alim wince, and Zevran laughed that the mighty warden could be so scared of a small injury. Alim picked the right ear, without knowing exactly why.

At the Circle, he looked for him. He knew it was stupid, and possibly dangerous, but he turned over the corpse of every mage they came to, checking. Sometimes the corpses were those of his friends. Anders wasn't one of them.

He didn't have the courage to ask Irving what had become of him.

At Amaranthine, the first thing he thought was I don't remember him being that tall. His fingers drifted to Zev's earring, then to the black ponytail at the back of his head. Duncan's hairstyle, he'd thought when he first decided it was the most practical way to deal with the dark strands. Mhairi was looking at the two of them curiously while the damn man flirted with her - obviously his preferences hadn't changed in the years since Alim had left. Alim could pretend it was a coincidence that they looked like dark and light versions of each other, but the fact that they were both, apparently, wearing the same cologne... well, you could only stretch coincidence so far.

How depressing, to find your efforts at being an individual were all in vain.

He knew what the first thing Zev would say if he was here. Well, the second thing he'd say, anyway. Damn he missed the man. Not only because if he was here there was no way Anders would have that blasted smirk plastered over his face.

It was the first time he'd blushed in a very, very long time.

FINALLY!  Nothing like waiting til the last minute to fill this week's prompt.  (Nasty, nasty case of writer's block last week.  Ah, well.)  Hope you guys like it!

-0-0-0-

Finally! Anders was incredibly excited. He checked his robes. They were still spotless, like they had been the last fifteen times he'd checked them. He looked in the mirror one last time (Really, this will be the last time!) to make sure that his hair was in place.

“Anders, you would think that you were going out to see a woman, not meeting your first Warden apprentice,” Nathaniel groused as he waited in the doorway. Anders was finally satisfied with his appearance and turned to Nathaniel.

“I want to look professional,” he explained. “This will be the first time I'm in charge of anything, let alone a new recruit, and I want to make sure that I leave a good first impression!”

Nathaniel rolled his eyes. “Anders.” The really, would you mind not being a drama queen? voice was in place now. “You look fine. You look … well, like a mage. You'll be fine, if you ever get downstairs and meet the recruits.”

“All right! All right! I'm coming already.” Anders smoothed his hands over his robes and left his quarters. Nathaniel accompanied him to the keep's throne room and they talked on the way.

“This is Solona Amell's brother, yes?”

Nathaniel nodded. “Yes. His name is Arthur. According to the note that the First Enchanter sent, he's excellent at primal spellcasting and passed his Harrowing faster than anybody but you and his sister.”

Anders grinned. “Excellent! I'll just have to work on darkspawn strategies with him and maybe teach him a couple of basic heals and he'll be ready for anything.” He lengthened his stride in his excitement, wanting to be in the throne room as soon as possible. Nathaniel sighed and walked faster to keep up.

They entered the throne room to see Elissa standing there with a young man and a young woman in front of her. She smiled at both of them. “Ah, here they are. All the Wardens are here now. Gentlemen and Erlina, may I present to you our newest recruits. This is Selena, a former templar initiate who has come to us, and Arthur, a newly-harrowed mage from the Circle.” Each of the recruits bowed in turn to the Wardens assembled and Elissa made her introductions.

Anders studied the mage, his first apprentice ever, as Elissa talked. The man was built like a warrior and stood almost as tall as Nathaniel. He made a mental note to ask Erna, their resident seamstress, to let out the poor man's robes across the shoulders once they got him something decent to wear. Circle Tower robes were cut more on the lean side and Arthur looked uncomfortable. Arthur had reddish-brown hair that he wore loose around his collar and he kept a moustache and goatee neatly trimmed. Even with the facial hair, the man was young, barely out of his twenties. For the first time, Anders felt … old?

Elissa turned to Anders. It was apparently his turn to be introduced. He smiled at her and held out his hand to Arthur first. “It's a pleasure to meet you!” he said cheerfully. “I am Anders, senior mage of the Grey Wardens of Ferelden. I look forward to working with you.”

Arthur's eyes widened as he heard Anders introduce himself. He turned to fully face the other mage. “Anders, you say?” At Anders' nod, his expression turned neutral and his eyes looked calculating. “Were you in the circle tower? Escaped a bunch of times?”

Anders preened. “You've heard of me, I see.” He grinned his most charming grin. “Seven escapes. The last one took when I was recruited into the Grey Wardens.”

“That's what I thought,” the other man mused and took a step forward. Anders' hand was still extended for a handshake, but what happened next defied all his expectations.

Arthur Amell, young promising mage recruit from the Circle in Ferelden, hauled back and punched Anders in the gut. It hurt. Anders doubled over in pain, trying desperately not to vomit the contents of his stomach all over the floor in front of all the other Wardens. Once he thought he got his gorge back under control, he looked up to see Arthur being restrained by Nathaniel and Elissa in case he tried to punch Anders again. “What was that for?” Anders croaked. He still hadn't gotten his breath fully back.

“My sister,” the younger mage said as he glared at Anders. “You told her she was special, you ******, and then disappeared on her. It's a good thing she didn't believe you after seeing you with three other mages the week before.” He looked at Elissa. “It's all right, Commander. I won't hit him any more.” Elissa and Nathaniel looked at each other, then reluctantly let him go.

Anders ignored Oghren's snickering and quietly cast a spell to heal any internal damage the punch might have caused, then stood up. “Well, I probably deserved that.” He ruefully shook his head at Arthur. “You, ser, have the honor of being the first person to ever punch me because of his sister. Congratulations!” He extended his hand out again and grinned at the younger man.

Arthur's eyes grew wide again, then crinkled as he laughed. He clasped Anders' hand heartily and shook it. “Good show, ser Anders, good show.” He leaned forward and lowered his voice to a whisper. “Just so you know, I broke your old record.” He leaned back and gave Anders a challenging grin.

Anders was confused. “I thought that Irving had said I still had the fastest Harrowing ever, and your sister had the second fastest.”

“Oh, that's true. I meant the other record.”

Anders gasped. “You mean …?”

Arthur nodded and his smile grew infinitesimally wider. Anders thought the young man looked rather wolfish. “Yes. I now hold the first place record for the most trysts in the First Enchanter's office.”

“Maker's breath! What is with you mages? Are they all like that? I can't believe you've never been punched before for your exploits! No wonder they lock you all in a tower!” Nathaniel threw his hands wide in exasperation and stalked off, muttering about mages who couldn't keep their sex lives to themselves.

Anders laughed loudly and threw his arm over the younger man's shoulder. “Welcome to the Grey Wardens! You'll get along here just fine!” He led the younger man off and they started comparing their experiences in the Circle Tower.

Anders had his first apprentice ever, and the knew it was going to work out fantastically.
