Damn, that "other" Anders is... well, let's just say I'm really happy they fixed him!

So I just called my friend who has my xbox copy of Awakenings. His xbox was sent to the Xbox hospital in Texas yesterday when it went RROD (It's my fault. He never played dragon age. I lent it to him about two weeks ago. he's done nothing but work and dragon age ever since.) So he can't load it up and confirm the face is the same in xbox and pc.  :?
hmmm

Oooh, and if anyone's feeling old school, gog.com just added planescape torment today! (and baldur's gate last week). About time those are available digitally!

Bad Anders looks like he did it. I wouldn't have recruited him, I would've been scared of him. I'm happy I'm not a gamer and have only PC.

I have every console save the x-box, and I still play on PC. I don't like playing RPGs (save for final fantasy, which is a JRPG any way so doesn't count) on console. There's something wrong about it.

Good thing too, otherwise I would have bought the PS3 version and never fallen for Anders!

That's one way to convince me never to buy a PS3...ew. Is the PS3 the one with bad Nate? /shudder

I haven't played Awakening in some time but I have the XBox version. Perhaps that's why when playing I didn't really find the companions visually appealing? Velanna, of course, was difficult to even look at and I questioned Anders' judgement when he started hitting on her.

I think Anders would at least try to hit on any woman. I mean - Namaya? Come on man, do you have no STANDARDS??

Is that a serious question ;)

I think the answer is no...he hits on Mhairi two seconds, literally after you walk into that room.  Maker bless him he's a tart.

I still haven't got over seeing console Nathaniel.
Bad Anders looks like a generic NPC. Proper Anders looks much better. But you're right, he does looks like another of Maric's bastards. When I first saw him I suggested he might be Fiona's son (Therin nose plus magic...) but no, that claim was dismissed. Too bad, it would have been fun.

Oh and Namaya is freaking ugly. And Sarah - I find Velanna pretty ugly for an elf with her hamster cheeks. Her sister is better looking and she's a ghoul.

Poor Namaya - seriously what were they thinking with that? I'm glad I'm a kind soul and modded her.

That's actually something that would give any of my non-Angélique characters pause. He has no standards and now he's interested in you. Really makes a girl feel special, huh? Posted Image

I think Anders' standard *starts* with - is she breathing YES/NO.  I put it down to being locked up and/or on the run most of the time.

True, but the only puss he gets is Ser Pounce-a-lot. He seems pretty happy with that, mind you.

I understand WHY Anders is that way. I'm just saying that it would make my Wardens a bit uneasy as he'd need to convince them that they're not just another notch on the bedpost.

What in the... is that a mod? Who would do that to him?

That's the placeholder/proto Anders that was actually used in the PS3 version of the game.

When my boyfriend played his copy of Awakening I was like "Yay! Anders on huge tv!" and my excitement quickly turned to terror when I saw *that*.

I have Awakenings on PS3 and I get the Anders in the botom pic:wub:.

That would make an interesting fic.  I wonder if anyone's done that (probably, I never come up with new ideas).

Anders trying to convince the female protagonist that he's serious...hmm

I would love to write something like this but I keep falling back on a PC who is possibly more indiscriminate that he is (the only thing that kept her away from Cammen was the fact that she thought he might be twelve) and since she knows from experience that a skank can be serious about someone (at least for a while), she'd probably not even consider it an issue.

This is the part where I admit that I'm afraid that, one of these days, David Gaider is going to wander in here and be like "Anders is all talk. And he has halitosis."

I'm just going to hope that never happens.

(also, only related in that it will be used to play dragon age, does this look like a decent deal?)

He's just jealous...:P

*deletes long rant about retconning character's personalities*

Maybe I'll give it a go.  I have problems setting him up with anyone but Ceri though and she's a loony blood mage who'd 'pull his guts out' if he strayed.  That might make jealousy on her part a little 'dodgy'.

Others will probably know more, but my concern would be the integrated graphics card.  Not sure if they're better where you are but ours tend to be a bit low end.

Provided you add a decent video card, yes it's a good deal, at least as far as pre-built PCs go. I myself prefer to build them myself but I know not everyone is into that.

I'm not sure how much you're willing to pay for a video card. The Radeon 5750 and 5770 are excellent cards at an affordable price.

And this post needs an Anders...

it has a 16x pci express slot so I can put my old graphics card into it, though. That was the first thing I checked (since I almost ended up with an i5 without any expansion slots!)

I managed to tear my roommate away from Halo, he said I should go for it. He's far more techie than me. (his computer might actually fly. I'm not sure, but it certainly seems like it.) Just... nervous. I hate buying big ticket items.

@Zjarcal : it's probably been fifteen years since I built a system from the ground up, I just don't have the patience for it anymore. I sort-of built my current system, but only in that I cobbled it together from three different systems that had all died for various reasons.

I've got a geforce 8600 now. It's not fantastic, but it'll do for a little while longer, I think. My current pc is just a pentium 4, though. I'm amazed I can even get dragon age to RUN. ****, most days I'm amazed I can even get the computer to run.

@Sarah -- Too funny! I love the play of Nate off Anders.

I'm totally seeing them as "The Odd Couple" now. Anders always inviting people over and forgetting his share of the rent, Nate always having to pay the bills and clean up the empty bottles in the morning.
