@jenn: Loved it! I also really kind of adore how we've all universally decided Anders has a Thing for his hair when he never really mentions it. (although it is SO him to have a Thing for his hair.)

I've been really lax about updating lately, but I was looking at my prompt list this morning and I got nommed on by a must-write-Anders bug. So I decided to write a few prompts for Anders and Lia.

This is the first of two connected prompts. Anders gets sick on the road, and Lia has to take care of him. It goes surprisingly well....... for the most part.

There's an idea for a fic - a bit dark - but magic addiction...? Some of those creation spells sound a lot like recreational drugs...

That was going to be a fairly prominent thing in Undertow. I decided to drop it considering it's dark enough as is, but there are still a few nods to it- mostly a couple of scenes where Anders automatically uses magic on Brand to help steady her nerves/calm her down. And it might come up in a more meaningful way towards the end of the story.

Oh hell, I'm kind of glad you did. I couldn't imagine Brand having all that crap piled on her AND needing her fix... or going through withdrawal. Did you hint at it with the assassins and Bryce? Was THAT what they were going to do with him? *shudders*

No! They were just ("just"? wtf?) going to kill him once Brand was dead. Maybe even before, depending on their chances of evading the inevitable posse that would come after them. 

Yeah, it would have been just one more layer of oh, Brand and she has about three too many as it is. She's definitely, definitely dependent on magic and evolved her fighting style to be most effective with Anders there to heal and, because she's a reaver, she's at her best the closer to death she is. No pressure on him at all. That's noted a couple of times, there's the 'magic as quick-acting Prozac', and then there's some lack of focus/confusion when he heals her. It's all vague, but intentionally so.

It's something I find very intriguing. Since my next story is going to be much fluffier, I might delve into it more there.

Yes, it was mainly about Zevran and my PC Neph. But Anders was in the first half of the story and he was so funny, I thought I might share it with you.

I am primarily a lurker here, but I just downloaded the mod "Romance Unlimited Skill Pack" www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php .  If you buy the skills, you can romance anyone in Origins and Awakenings.  I just tried it out in Awakenings.  Anders is fully "functional".  So is Nathaniel and Sigrun.  I was on my dwarf and in the middle of Kal'Hirol.  So the setting was less than romantic, but the mod works.  I just thought I'd let y'all know about this.  May I suggest that you also install "Vigil Vendor" social.bioware.com/project/2707/ . This will allow you to get skill tomes at no cost.:innocent:
