I love it. Nate looking irritated holding Ander's staffy while Anders devotes his undivided attention to The Pounce.

I think Teagan becomes a bit creepy in the epilogues where he marries Kaitlyn who is probably 16ish in the game. This is why I always give Tevin the sword back, because it keeps me from thinking about Teagan having a wife *that* young and Tevin is awesome.

I did the same thing!Avilia wrote...
Agreed. Its very creepy. I've paired Teagan up with Alfstanna in my fics - he deserves someone equally impressive.

Oh, what's NOT to like about Teagan? Well, besides his age, of course. And the fact he's related to Eamon so he and Isolde would be my in-laws.

Drive past screeny. Anders says "Good night sweehearts" ;-)

I honestly usually play elves in RPGs. (or half-elf if it's a D&D system game since the hit to constitution isn't as bad but the low light vision makes up for it.) I went with a human for my fic since I figured adding elf racism stuff on top of the "the world hates mages" main plot would be a bit much for something that wasn't supposed to be overly angsty.
I also didn't want to reinforce negative stereotypes (even stereotypes of fictional races) and it seemed like she would do just that if she was also an elf from what I'd already sketched out of her general personality. (not so much in game, but the constant jokes about elven ****s and the like in the books gave me the definite impression people had a belief about elven women being promiscuous.)
Seriously, I sat down and debated human or elf with myself for a good long time before I started writing. Because I am a spaz like that.
And I don't think Maggie would get away with 1/10th of what she does if she was an elf since she'd be working against two prejudices, and one would be something she couldn't downplay.
Plus, poor Amell... no one loves her. There are way more elf mage fics than human mage. Figured the gal needed some love. But yeah, her hands are way creepy. The girl could crush walnuts in her fists.

My big fics are warden-centric (Beginnings, Losses, Choices, Of Wardens and Mages and Fractures). Although OWAM and Fractures are equally from Anders' POV. I suppose Shades of Grey is KIND of warden centric, Aedan is the one who propels most of the plot even if he isn't the "good guy" IYKWIM? And Caged is split between Cousland/Alistair/Surana.
My one-shots are ALL NPC based though. I feel more comfortable writing short stuff about characters that are already established - possibly because the readers should already know quite a bit about those characters so you don't have to fill in so many blanks.
