It's not smutty yet, so I thought I'd share my idea with you guys. This is too much fun to write for me not to!

"Maker, I am so bored."

Finn looked up irritably from his book and eyed Anders with mingled affection and annoyance. "Will you go somewhere else and whine? I'm busy."

Anders flicked at his book with a finger. "You're always busy."

"Funnily enough, you are too usually. Why are you bored now?"

"Harriet dumped me."

"You don't seem too upset about it."

Anders shrugged. "She was getting boring. I need a new challenge."

Finn sighed. "What you need is to pursue someone you'll never get for a change. That should keep you occupied and out of my hair for a little while."

Anders smirked at him. "Someone I could never get, eh?" he said. "Not possible."

Finn closed his book and eyed his friend. Since that incident during exercises Finn had been the only mage truly willing to be friendly with him (Finn didn't count the man's women - and he suspected Anders didn't either) but he could be desperately annoying at times, especially when he had research to do. Which was always.

"I'm sure there's someone in this tower who doesn't find you irresistible."

The healer leaned his chair back on two legs and put his foot on the table to balance, crossing his arms over his chest and eyeing FInn with evident delight. "Name one," he said.

Finn rolled his eyes, then happened to get a glimpse of the Templar on duty. An idea sprang into his head that was so outrageous it might just work. "Cullen," he said. "I bet you could never seduce Cullen."

Anders' mouth dropped open and the chair fell back to the ground with a thud. "You devious little bastard," he said. "That is a challenge worthy of a bard."

"You're not actually going to try are you? Everyone knows the man is pining after that Amell girl..."

Anders was looking into the distance, chewing on a fingernail in thought. "Solona? Huh. Well I can work that.... "

Finn smiled to himself and turned his attention back to his book. The other mage was completely absorbed. Score one to Finn.

@ Estral I loved Finn in Witch Hunt. I also really liked Sketch in Leliana's Song. Mages just rock, really. There's a reason why I have two of them. I've got two mages and two Couslands but no dwarves or city elves or dalish...

.....Obviously I'm a closet racist!

Even though I have at least one of each Warden, I practically always write about my dwarf noble Aunn, my human noble Anastasia, or my human mage Angélique.

@Sarah I actually LIKE city elves, but Dalish - they truly irritate me. I have a Kallian Tabris that I keep meaning to play but never finish. My elves always end up ugly too, or really bland. Neria was the first one I made that actually looked how I wanted her to look. And I used SurelyForth's Ron Mahariel as a kind of model for Alim here because he was the first male elf I'd seen that didn't look like a complete tosser.

I think maybe my problem with writing about them stems from how their first story started (God knows I never play mages and yet Angélique comes up a lot). My Surana started out telling Jowan to solve his own damn problems and so avoiding the whole origin mess because if it weren't for game mechanics it would be so freaking easy to avoid so she's mostly just the rational mage. My Tabris (well, the main one not the one that was created so I could write a 'bribe-accepting Tabris returns to Alienage' one-shot) started off in a character study about Shianni and then I pretty much just use her in any plots involving Zevran to be with someone so that's not especially fleshed out. My Mahariel is a lot more fun but since she was so badly affected by the taint that she has origin-confusion issues, she doesn't show up a lot.



All three of them would never, ever, under any circumstances EVER be with a human but my Mahariel might do it when she's convinced she's a human noble or mage and then when realizing she's an elf (whether city, mage, or herself doesn't matter) freak out. I just think my other characters are more interesting. I don't write much about my Brosca either but I prefer fall from grace stories to rags-to-riches.

I think I have a thing with mages too Miri. Recently I came to the realization that in every single game I've played and enjoyed - I have built my character to be a mage. (or, magelike).



I don't usually go for one race over another, so long as they can shoot lightening at fools

I'm the same way. In Mass Effect I always go biotic, in tabletop games I always go mage. Even in games like Shadowrun where playing a mage might as well be shooting your character right in the head at the start of every session since it's so gimped.

(yeah, I'm that dorky. I'm also almost done with my smut prompt. I ought to be ashamed of myself.)

I think I bothered to learn even the basics of biotics on my...fourth ME playthrough and that was just to be able to get my shields back up instantly because I always charge in and take a ton of damage. Hardly the biotic/mage mindset.

I got so much **** from my group when I did that. And it was an ELF mage, no less, which means even more gimped since it costs more points to be anything that isn't vanilla human.

Ah, poor Cullen.
Note to self: never ever ever EVER read something tagged as "Cullen smut" again (especially m/m). My muse is allergic to that, she likes unsatisfied desires.
