Woot! I love it when that happens! :)

Was bound to happen.
And I'll say, now that I'm thirty*coughcough* years old the appeal of a fumbling, shy virgin is very very minimal. It's sweet and all but... I'm just way past the point in my life where inexperience is charming.

Mmmm. Now I'm wondering if it IS Anders at all. The hair looks shaved to me. Also, the archer's arm coming out of his neck is just WRONG ;).

That Definitely Anders pic is one of the hottest things EVER. I remember the first time I saw it, I bemoaned the placing of his hand. That much of Anders' inner-thigh is enough to make me need a cold shower....

I want to pierce Isabella's boobs with a spear, I'm sure they are faked. I have this image in my head since I saw her:

@Gala Indeed. They couldn't have made her much more different if they'd tried. And I love that nip-tuck reference.

If the mystery man IS Anders they didn't change him too much, thank goodness. I suppose they thought they could get away with it with Isabela seeing as she was such a minor character, albeit a minor character you could have a sex-romp with.

Nicely played, Gala!

The Isabella revamp is disappointing. I always imagined her to be sorta petite, not a curvy bombshell type. More Jack than Miranda, I guess.

Oh, well. In the absence of an Anders, my Hawkes will probably still be all over that.

Now that you mention it Miri -- it does almost look like his head could be shaved and then very much not Anders (unless he cut it all to avoid recognition, but I seriously think he would have opted for a cloak instead).

Also that comic is perfect Gala, spot on :)

I was thinking it looked pulled back, just without the bits hanging down. And the hairline is identical.

Is Varric a love interest? Since with Brian Bloom doing the voice I could get down with that.

Love the comic, Gala! So true! (seriously, each one is as big as her HEAD! She's going to need very supportive undergarments or she'll be complaining about her back hurting nonstop three hours into the game)

I'm nudging into rampant speculation/crazy conspiracy theory territory, but there's a squareness about his head that I associate with Duncan hair (see below) and the black design behind him seems to be partially blocked where his ponytail would be.

(I cannot believe I'm analysing DA2 screens. I promised myself I would keep my fangirlism in check for this one.)

@Surely I had TOTALLY dismissed the possibility of Anders being in DAII so this screenshot completely threw me into fangirl twitching.

See, it's a win/win for me I figure. If Anders ISN'T in DA2 then all my fanfic isn't suddenly thrown into AU. If he IS, well, MOAR ANDERS. So I'm a happy chicky either way.

Yeah, Im hanging onto the identical hairline and possible ponytail :)

I also do not understand the Anti-Anders reactions... besides being fun to look at, he is excellently written and a powerful companion.

MOAR Anders indeed!!

Yeah, Anders and Sigrun both should not have any kind of fan backlash. Even if you're someone who cares ****all about liking video game companions, they're both inoffensive enough that it seems impossible to dislike them. And Anders is a total powerhouse in combat. I've done random encounters with just him and my PC and even on normal or difficult there's not a whole lot of challenge.

I could never understand why people bothered to hate on Alistair, either. Or even Loghain, for that matter. I can get annoyed with a character if their behaviour is inconsistent or if they're badly written, but none of the DA companions are like that. Sure, I may not particularly like Wynne or Velanna, but I wouldn't bother to spew vitriol about them. They're only made of pixels after all.

Having said that, it probably makes as much sense to squee over videogame characters... but I like to think positive emotions are healthier than negative ones.

Who's hating on Anders? Seems an excessively useless expension of energy to me (yes, expension is a word...)

@Miri: For me, if I find a character to be not particularly appealing or unappealing and then I run into the ridiculously and almost overwhelmingly huge fan base for them (like in the case of Alistair) then my lack of strong feelings about the character tends to push me into dislike territory. For example, it is REALLY hard for me to read an Alistair romance story no matter how well-written it is.

Eh, I'll totally hate on Wynne. But Wynne hate is loads of fun!
And since everyone has been all about drawing as of late (I am blaming you, Miri) I trudged up to my attic and found my old tablet. Needless to say, I am not as good as I was when I packed it away.
I'm almost embarrassed to even link that, but eh. Part of me is pleased I still knew which end of the pen was up. And that it is almost vaguely possibly resembling Anders.

@Sarah: I'm the same way with Alistair stories.  But so many are either post-King angst and misery or princessy stuff, and neither really appeal to me.

@Lupus No way! That's great! You've really got the expression going there. (and I may have accidentally bought myself a tablet for an early Christmas present. Maybe.)

I must admit that I kind of hate on Alistair/Cousland stories now, despite my entire fic universe being based on that pairing. I'll read one, but I'd much prefer to read Alistair slash, it's more fun. I think in my head that story is finished - Ali & Miranda are married, with a kid and they've gone off to their Calling. Let's focus on the interesting people - like Zevran and Anders and Nate and Oghren. Woot!

Okay, so I went to work and the internet exploded with Anders-ness. XD
My general opinion is that that is Anders, but it's more of a "Hey! It's you. 'Sup? See ya when I play Awakenings again." sort of meeting. But that is almost assuredly his nose and hair line. I could go all Junior Forensic Anthropologist on you, but a lot of the facial structure is the same too. ^_^
My little universes are safe anyway. Anders who runs off occasionally  could have a pirate adventure if need be and other WYW!Anders is a separate entity altogether.
Also, those robes? Straight up B*tchin'.

@Gala- That's just too funny. :D

@Lupus - That picture has German Expressionism written all over it. *thumbs up*

Nice work Lupus :) Looks great! Aren't tablets so much fun?? Mine is my best friend, I can't go anywhere without it!

And congrats on an early Christmas present Miri - you'll have so much fun with it!

@Cave: Aren't they awesome? I love the robes, all piratemagey! They can't make him look so enticing and not let us romance him. *grumbles of frustration*

I'm trying to figure out the most heartbreaking thing they could do with Anders in DA2, and I think it would having him be Isabela's lover when you meet her and then he leaves after a five minute cameo and you never see him again. And Isabela talks about how good he is in bed all the time.

@Estral - I'm taking this as carte blanche to draw him in more structured robes with trousers.

The cynical part of me that seems to be in charge at the moment says that's exactly what will happen.

(Its probably a bad sign for me that every new piece of news I hear about DA2 makes it seem that little bit less interesting...)

Anyway!  Anders - its almost prompt time again Posted Image

Anders could always have a throwaway line about how much he hates the Warden or Isabela could mention that he wouldn't stop talking about his deep and abiding hatred for the Warden. This is the ending he leaves in, after all.

Ouch, that would hurt. But you have a point, if it is the ending where he leaves forever.

I can't get the blending right on this. I don't remember if I ever could. With real paints I'd use my thumb, but that isn't really an option here.

Oh, dear. I think that would bring on an actual pout... maybe a wibble.

@Lupus - Are you using corel painter? Mine has a smudge "brush" to choose. It's the closest I've found to a thumb... which is to say not at all. Nothing beats thumbs and knuckles at paint smearing/smudging.
