Mmm, I just spent a lovely five minutes googling shirtless men. Bradley Cooper... mmmm. He looks very, VERY like a young man I had a fling with at university. The guy was a TOTAL man****, and could so get away with it.

I'm working on a Neria/Anders Calling picture - I was going to put them in robes but I think I'll do them naked instead, it might have more impact. And I totally think Anders would have body hair. Neria likes body hair in men. Cos elves don't have it, yer know!

Oh, Bradley Cooper, so hot, so cocky. I could just eat him with a spoon.
I always think of Anders as having a respectable amount of body hair. I usually go with the nice masculine chest hair, but not so much that he looks like bear. ;) I'm a total hooch for chest/tum hair though. It's perfect for snugglin'.

I actually change the body I use when it's Anderstair. Alistair gets the Theseus body from the Natural bodies mod, which is all "grr he man superman muscles." I use the v body model for Anders, though, which is less sharply defined and "ripped". (nsfw for naked butt and hint o' pubes)

Edit to add my support for Anders with chest hair.  As well as arm and leg, but not, you know, to a "are you wearing a fur sweater" degree or anything.

I am fully onboard with chest-hair Anders. I just can't imagine him being smooth and shiny at all. (Zevran is another story entirely!)

I've actually been using a few shots of Chris Evans (with his Captain America muscles, not Fantastic Four -- too bulky) as my latest Anders-references. I like the length of his muscles. Makes sense in my head as a caster to have longer, leaner muscles peppered with slight bulkiness.

I think it's actually cannon is that elves don't have body hair. Not quite sure how that works, since eyebrows and hair on their heads is body hair of a sort, but who knows.

I think the Anderstair thing doesn't bug me a much since in AOA land he's been an arcane warrior using 2H weapons for like five years. I think, even with the spells, that'll put on some bulk.

Mmmm. This conversation has my mind going to all sorts of lovely places. Yum. Now I'm itching to get to drawing shirtless Anders. If only my daughter would let me use my tablet for more than a few seconds without demanding a turn :(.

I'm just picturing the strangest conversation if she asks what mommy's drawing.

"Naked video game characters, honey"

@Lupus *chuckle* although her language is good for a 2 year old, she's not quite at that level. She's more likely to point and say "That's a man! I want to play!" Her favourite trick at the moment is to stand next to the change table while I'm changing the baby and tell me in a serious voice "He's got a penis! It's a teeny, tiny one!"

Tempted to video it so I can embarrass both of them at their 21sts, but I suspect I would then be divorced as a parent.

Truly, though, I cannot deny her anything. Could you?

When I was two (and a few years passed that) my parents made sure to call it a 'peter'...

I'm tempted to try and hand candy to my monitor just looking at that! She's too adorable for words!

@Sarah it's all about "protective behaviours" these days. If a child can name a part they can tell you specifics if something terrible happens to them. I know - it's dreadful to think about it, but my mum always told me the right names for things (totally confused me once I went to school, though, cos no one else used the proper words - I was always wondering who this "willy" person everyone was talking about was).

@Lupus She accepts all forms of candy in payment, although lollipops and gingerbread men are preferred currency with jelly snakes coming in a close third.

Awww, Miri, she so cute!

And I agree with you about naming things right, my parents raised me like that too. Mum claimes I even started to talk without childish prattle because they didn't teach me to use odd words instead of normal. She thought: "What? My kid is not an idiot, why must she talk like one?" It still puzzles me when I read recomendations to teach children to babble.

They're too young to have any idea what they're saying? I don't think it would really make a big difference one way or another if kids are saying real words they don't understand or gibberish they don't understand.

@Sarah I think it's a case of whether you think it's cute or not. My hubby and I are all for clear cut instructions and understanding. We don't use "choo choo train" or "horsey" so why should she? And it needlessly confuses kids if they're told ten different words for the same thing. I won't go into the other reasons for why it's good because this isn't the place to go into that sort of thing, but if you're interested you can PM me and I can tell you why it's important.

Also, she's totally cute enough without using babble.

Speaking of adorably cute kids - Gala's recent Obsession page has young Cullen! And young Anders totally rivals my daughter for cuteness - and cheekiness:

@Miri, So adorable and so serious. :D

My parents taught me all the actual words for things, but I just renamed them as I saw fit. XD

My mom has this story about how I said something about asking why my cousin had a "winky" and I didn't. She told me that it wasn't a "winky," it was called a penis. I narrowed my eyes at her and whispered, "Vulgar." in a very serious tone and just walked away, but I kept looking back over my shoulder and scowling at her.

But back on topic. You should really give shirtless Anders a go... purely in the pursuit of understanding anatomy, totally not because of, well, ya know, the hotness. ;)

<---strongly agrees with Cave, more shirtless Anders!!

The day needs to have at least 26 hours in it, I am fed up with this 24-hours-to-get-everything-done nonsense. I need more time to draw more Anders. Shirtless Anders.

I had a nose!fight today. The best half of my family (aka husband) finally agreed that Anders' nose is a very nice nose, but I can't draw it properly and must practice more.
Then Anders' nose was fighting Cullen's nose. Cullen's nose won. Now it demands to be drawn. But Anders' nose is next, I don't want it to be sad.
No, I don't take drugs. ))))

@Gala I love how you draw Anders' nose as well! But you're right, Cullen also has a superb specimen of noseliness.

@Cave That's hilarious! Most kids do make up names for things, but we're going to let her do it for herself. She'll get the real names from us. Her auntie fills her head with puppy dogs and choo choo trains enough as it is (this from one of the driest, most cynical women I've ever met - she goes all gushy as soon as my daughter enters the room).

Tank has finished my commission! She's soooo beautiful!

I'm glad that you like the Nose, but I trust my man cuz he's not biassed. And he told me what exactly I must fix to make it better.
(And I'm really happy that he thinks about Anders' nose better now. lol, I'd started Obsession just because he said that Cullen looks bada** His approval of Anders art may start something too ))))

Miri- I'm like that with my nephew already.

And that picture is fantastic! I love it!

Cave, that story is adorable. I'm still grinning from it. I'm going to have to say 'vulgar' to someone later on.

For the record, my mother also used to offer me a dollar to say curse words too though, so that might have made me more inclined to say that. XD

@Gala,I think the way you draw his nose is quite lovely, but like you said, I'm totally biased. ^_^

Edit - These are the people I have to deal with every day. Fail
