@Miri: Can Weisshaupt just up and order you to do that? That seems like a case of them really needing to mind their own business and good luck enforcing it from the freaking Anderfels. I'm really curious about the whole reverse tranquility thing, I've got to admit. I love the image of Sigrun habitually picking all her own locks.

@Sarah I actually figure that it's just standard warden practice for all warden mages to be blood mages - but you're right, there's no real way they can enforce it, and they haven't had a duster dwarf as warden commander before . The reverse tranquility thing will be explored more I hope.

@Miri, you know, when I read your stories, I want to throw a piano at the First Warden. Such a bastard, really! In my canon universe I can imagine Rhiamon sending him a note: "*** off. I'm in charge here. Sit in your Anderfels and mind your own business" Luckily she has Marina to deal with correspondence.

@ Gala: Funny story - I've actually HAD a piano thrown at me. Still have the scars. (Granted, it was a small electric piano, and it had been smashed up, and it only hit me a little bit, but still). Sigrun's just going to be a dutiful little duster and say "Yes, my mages are doing as you asked". She can always claim to have misunderstood the letter if they come to check. "What, you wanted them ALL to learn it? Huh?"



Also, Anders' Calling... I was debating whether Fractures!Anders and Neria would get out of it somehow, but I just can't see the thing I have worked out happening in time for them . Hence this picture.

Haha! Don't worry, I am no longer traumatized by it . Just a little anecdote about my misspent youth! And New Vegas!Anders is hilarious. One day I shall get the game, make a character who looks like Anders and roam the wastes using only a flamethrower.

Sarah- I love it! The back and forth between Anders and Wynne is so natural. And Anders having a big moral justification to cover up what's really just a case of being squicked out is spot on.

@Estral, His expression is perfect! He seems so bewildered and disappointed at the same time.

@Cave Exactly the justification I always think of for learning Blood Magic. And gorgeous stuff, even if it is only rough.
Re: The Calling picture - that's why it's still rough - every time I tried to mess with the lines in his face the expression went googa, so I stopped fiddling.

Oh, and there's a second part to my prompt fill that I didn't tag on because it didn't fit with the first bit. Here it is though:

Later, in their quarters, Neria ran a finger over his naked chest, lightly coated with ice. He closed his eyes as he let the delicious cold seep into him, taking away the muggy heat of an Amaranthine summer.

"Anders.." she said softly. He blinked his eyes open to see her chin resting on his chest as she looked up at him.

"Mmm?"

"What if I learned?"

"Learned?"

She sat up and crossed her legs. "What if I learned blood magic - the way they want us to?"

He bit his lip and sat up, pushing himself back on the bed until he was leaning on the headboard. "Do you want to?" he said.

She shrugged. "Whether I want to or not isn't the point. Would you... would you mind?"

"Would I mind? If you became a malificar?"

She flushed and looked down. "Yes. I mean - you've always gone on about how much you hate blood magic... but you don't seem to hold it against Jowan..."

He put his head on one side and considered her. "I don't like the idea of you being in danger from the Chantry," he said. "And... it's no secret I don't like blood magic, but you know my reasons for that. Jowan is an exception to a fairly accurate rule. Most blood mages are not nice people, and they make the rest of us look bad. But I don't... Well I don't think you'll be damned or anything if you do..."

"So... "

He sighed. "I'd still love you, if that's what you're asking. And I'd still marry you. Although possibly not in a Chantry, not that they were going to let us do that any way....."

"But you'd prefer it if I didn't, right?"'

He made a face. "Yes? I..."

"What?"

"It's just a bit... well..."

"What?"

"You'll laugh."

She poked him. "Probably. But I'm going to make you tell me any way. So stop hedging."

"It's a bit.... yucky," he said.

She laughed.

Ah, don't be upset with this Anders hatred. I'm dealing with it ever since I did my first Anders fanart. Some Alistair's fangirls told me I was a **tch because I dared to betray Mr. Puppy Eyes. Well, there's enough Alistair art without me, they shouldn't be offended XD Hehe, I wonder what will they do if he will be the main LI for f!Hawke in DA2?



About that topic: people say they want a new char, but Awakening told us NOTHING about Anders. Look, our thread is full of questions and devs haven't answered any of them. I have a feeling they were trying to avoid spoilers. We will probably learn some more about Anders in DA2. Why was he so old when they dragged him into the Tower? Why and how did he escape so many times? Why does his cat revive people?

Well, I'm not sure about the 'how' (a great deal of creativity?) but I think the 'why' is easy enough: the Tower sucks and Anders was brought in late enough to recognize this.
