@Estral, Thanks!

@Lupus, Thanks. I've started on inking the proper finished version and I have to keep zooming in so I can't see Anders' face. It makes me feel guilty. XD

@Miri, Thanks!

Re: Calling picture - Sometimes the best thing to do with a drawing is just leave it alone. It takes a long time to learn that. hehe You just want to keep tweaking it until it's just right, but sometimes "just right" is half finished with the perfect colors or not perfect, but with an absolutely spot on expression.

Re: Prompt fill - That is just too damn adorable. :DDD

I've avoided posting in that thread, because I know I'll just get all self-righteous and break out pie charts, measurements, and the like... not to say that I haven't been reading it religiously. ;D

And here's my drawing warm up for today -

For me the 'why' is more... why was it allowed to happen so many times? Looking at the Anerin situation, it seems almost bizarre that Anders was able to escape so many times without being killed.

Although yeah... why DOES his cat revive people? Besides that it's awesome.

That is just ridiculous that he was allowed to escape that many times. I say this with all the love in my heart, but if it was anyone else they would have lopped his head clean off after the third escape. The Chantry's not exactly lovey-dovey about mages who don't obey their arbitrary rules.
And the whole "I got you this random kitten... Oh, wait! It's magic? That seems about right." is so silly it makes me smile. Well, to be fair, a non-magic kitten would make me smile, but I think you get what I mean.

Indeed. There's no reason any mage would just be allowed to waltz out so many times. Especially since in Witch Hunt we found out it started when he was apprentice- and he wasn't made tranquil, ether!

And my god, the thread has taken a turn for the ****ish today.

Also: Love love love younger anders. :)

Yeah, being endearingly caddish and charming might work on us, but I'm thinking they would probably want more reasoning than that.

Thanks. Ah, young Anders so cute and only relatively beaten down by the world. ; )

@Cave YOUNG ANDERS. And I was reading the other thread at 3am this morning and I had to resist the urge to reply on my phone. It doesn't help me get back to sleep - getting involved in internet arguments :).

Now of course I'm all riled up because husband managed to wake up BOTH kids before 6am (stupid earplugs he wears, he doesn't know how much noise he makes) so I'm raring to have a go at someone. I shall restrain myself however.

New theory: Anders is just so awesome that he's immune to the rite of tranquility.

I like that theory.

They tried and somehow, not only was he not made tranquil, three tranquils working in the next room over suddenly regained their own magic.

Anders eats a bowl of nails for breakfast - without any milk...

It probably has something to do with his 'secret' past. Or Bioware just buggered up the lore and continuity...nah they wouldn't do that.

I really feel like they made Awakening with plans to tie a lot into DA2. Nate in Kirkwall, Anders being all mysterious and then that out of nowhere random Isabella epilogue... it just seems like too much of a coincidence.

They did I think.  Laidlaw pretty much admitted Nate's past in the Marches was deliberate.  I'll be suprised if we don't see Anders, Nate and Oghren at some point.  (Oghren was with Mercenaries up that way at some point between Origins and Awakenings).

If we do see Anders one can only hope they answer the big question of why he was sent to the tower so late and why he wasn't killed or made tranquil for escaping.

MY THEORIES:

1. If he's Wilhelm's son (which is a big possibility in my books considering his resemblance to Matthais) he could well have been spared because his dad was such a hero in the war against the Orlesians. It would also explain why he wasn't sent to the tower early - while Wilhelm was killed pretty much immediately after Anders was born (I don't put him past thirty in Awakenings) his family would have known how to hide a mage pretty well. One would think.

2. If he's Wynne's son, I'm assuming then that he's ALSO Irving's, so he was protected by the virtue of having the First Enchanter as a father. However, I don't like this theory as it means he would have been snaffled by the chantry at birth and there would have had to be some sort of arrangement to get him out again. Also, I get the impression he was actually raised by at least one of his parents (just a feeling).

3. Irving's son, but not Wynne's.

4. Greagior's son! - they have the same nose!

In my head he's Willhelm's son. Totally. (although there's not a macguffin in the world I could invent to let him figure that out in AOA.)

He's definitely not Wynne's son. Gaider flat out said so - but that's not stopped them changing things before.

I subscribe to the Wilhelm theory and have for a while. I know they're lazy with faces but Matthias has more than a superficial resemblence.

Don't.
Tempt.
Me!

Because I'm totally seeing Shale attacking Anders on site for his resemblance to Willhelm.  And it is awesome.

@Avilia Oh thank god. I actually remember him saying that now, but I was terrified for a while there.

@Lupus That's what I'm here for! (and I TOTALLY love it when Shale calls Wilhelm's wife "hag". Best line ever.)

Experimental gif post I tried to find out if gifs are allowed on these forums and couldn't find if they were or not. I AM HAPPY TO TAKE THIS DOWN MODS :) - but this is totally the gif I'm going to post if/when Anders is announced in DA2:

That about sums it up, doesn't it?

And I liked your witch hunt point in the other thread. Since that seemed to be the "transition" DLC to DA2 it is telling that he was referenced twice.

You should see the amount of GIF on Fenris thread, Miri. This one is perfectly okay.
I like Matt Smith, he's great in Doctor Who.

@Tankgirly You so shouldn't have told me that. I'm an absolute gif junkie. :)

ETA: there's apparently a Grey Warden quest in DA2. The evidence just keeps piling up. In PILES!

I know the episode well. mmm... captain mal.

Agreeing on the flames, too.

I'm glad the other Anders thread seems to have calmed down. It's much less rage inducing now.

Although there's two now, which confuses me.
