Thanks! I sent a message in the comment section of the Deviant art group. I hope I did it right. I don't have a lot of experience with Deviantart. I'd defintily like to get the fanart part of the meme going more.



Don't take it so hard cave that the Anders community floundered. I think the DA Kink one is still going on strong from sheer momentum (and the insane amount of time I've spent on the delicious archive).



I was thinking about making the next fillathon be an Awakening fillathon though. Maybe that'll get some more Anders goodness going? Add me as another person hoping you get to romance him in DA2.

@Lupus, LJ is just dying down period... which makes me sad.

I say we could do both ideas. We could be less specific though in handing out senses/sins and just let them be the categories instead for judging.

I don't think I'll ever stop snickering over someone turning one of my offhanded comments here into a prompt, and someone else (well, maybe it was someone else) posting my aimo commission as a prompt. (I wish I knew who replied and pointed them at my fic, though.)



I almost never answer prompts just because it seems like people only want Anders/Nate, and even if I could get past the fact that Anders is an unabashed womanizer, really, Nate clearly loathes him. Not "acts like he hates but really want." Just hates. Makes it all pretty deep into crack territory for me.



Have you noticed that the popular social mediums are consistently moving into shorter and shorter written passages. LJ to myspace to facebook to twitter, each involving less and less actual written communication.



And since this page is still picless... the aimo in question. Because I never tire of it.

To me Anders and Nate are at best amicable... on a good day... if Nate's a little drunk... and Anders has laryngitis and is two towns over. ;D

Ah, LJ is killing me, I'm getting lost every time I go there. I used to visit it only to read Jakia's fanfics, post my Russian fics into our group and give links to Anders comic while I was doing it. Then I decided it was silly, because everyone who was following that comic was on dA as well. Now thanks to Marinelli I visit it again because of her Zev fic... Did you know Zev was dressed like a scared girl when he was trying to kill Lu? It was so hilarious, she called him "Rag ******" XD

Don't forget the "really hates but also wants" territory but I don't really see Nathaniel falling into that.

@Sarah: True- and I think Nate's a bit too straightforward to play games like that... and if he did it would be more likely to be the kind of hate he might have for an f!cousland warden that killed his father without repentance, not the annoying chatterbox mage.

Anders might, though.

(FWIW, I don't think Morrigan and Alistair fall into either of those categories, either, although it seems to be a popular belief.)

Re the livejournal groups - I'm sad about it too. But I'm RIGHT BEHIND the idea of having competitions for the Anders group on DevArt - or if not competitions then at least prompts. The last idea we were talking about after the six senses was an idea for the stages of life - I like that one too. (I think I volunteered for infant Anders from what I remember...)

Not posted here before but I thought Anders was quite sweet, especially his relationship with Ser Pounce a Lot (reminds me of me and my cats, though even I don't use a voice as silly as that) I finished my fir attempt at Awkaening last night and in the Epilogue it said everyone was grateful to Anders and his healing magic at the defence of Vigils Keep when I went to save Amaranthine.

I hate when people do this, pick bits out of my posts and quote them out of context.  But...I'm doing it to you.  Apologies in advance.

I'm  just curious as to why you feel Nate hates Anders?  There's nothing in their conversations that gives me that impression.  He certainly seems to find Anders frustrating to talk to but I'm not getting actual dislike.  Am I missing something (always possible)?

I don't think he exactly hates Anders,but I think he's exasperated and frustrated by him at every turn. Anders avoids all of Nate's questions (the questions about how the Templars find him, the question about the robes) and the dialogue about Nate being like a mage shows Anders doesn't really like him much either - "Kinda missing my point, aren't you?"



Also, I REALLY don't think Anders is gay. At most, bi, but not gay. Nate could be, but I get a straight vibe from him too. Just my opinion.

Isn't it practically canon that he slept with Namaya at some point? Not to mention that in his 'I want' list he asks for a pretty girl and then a harem.

I kind of like the idea that if you take Anders as a party member Fenris will leave (or refuse to join your party if Anders is in it). But really, he's got zero established personality so far. It's way too early to begin to guess about how he might respond to things- he hasn't even had a single spoken line in any of the released footage yet. (I really don't get writing fic of someone this soon- how could it be anything but an OC with the same name?)

@Avilia: The tone of voice Nathaniel uses for Anders is only used with someone else one other time- when he first confronts the Warden about killing his father. He doesn't use that tone with anyone else. I'm not saying that they can't grow to be acquaintances, or even over a long period of time, develop some kind of friendship. But at that point, just after they meet, it really seems like Nathaniel wants nothing to do with Anders, and only tolerates his presence because he has to.

@Sarah: I always took her comments about Anders being a sweet talker and the way he says she was "a... friend" as confirmation that there was something going on between the two of them.

Most of the companion conversations (iirc and off the top of my head) involve them snarking at each other at some point. Anders and Sigrun ("I thought Dwarves would be nicer" "I thought Mages would be smarter") as an example. Nate and Sigrun don't - he's clearly trying to be nice to her and failing the first couple of times, mostly out of his ignorance of dwarven culture. Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic (or I have strange friends) but that's how I talk to my friends. Healthy insults mixed in with normal conversation and general niceness.

I don't take it as an indication of any deep feelings of dislike (except for Velanna) - they're all just getting to know each other at that point. Something Anders obviously doesn't want so he gives annoyingly frivolous answers to Nate's questions. ' Mind your own business' might have worked better, but I'm sure it wouldn't have been as much fun to write or listen to.

Anyway - sorry - waaaay off topic. Feel free it ignore my ramblings.

So, I'll leave you with something on topic shall I - I agree with Miri - I don't think either Anders or Nate are gay or bi if it comes to that. Nate we really don't know about - he's Mr Inaccessible but Anders is coded to only flirt with female pcs and gives huge approval boosts if you're female. I get him almost to 100 just by going to Amaranthine and doing his person quest. A couple of little flirtations and he's mine. That's without even giving him the kitty....what a tart (that's what I say to him while I'm playing 'you're such a tart Anders').

Indeed - this is why I think he's not gay - there are just too many references to pretty girls and the way he talks to Velanna as well (despite her shooting him down). He's an incurable flirt. No gay guys that I know do that - at least not successfully!

ETA: @Avilia He's easy to get to 100 as a boy as well, although not quite as easy. Another reason why I think he's going to be in DA2 - it's actually very HARD to get his approval low - he's coded to like you no matter what . So his personal quest is super easy to trigger and pretty easy to complete. I don't think many people leave him at the keep unless they're spirit healers themselves (or like dying a whole lot) so I imagine very, very few people get that epilogue slide where he's dead.

@Miri yep. Agree. I never play my companions - well rarely. Anders AI and default tactics make him a great healer (much better than I could ever be playing one myself). Its almost as if Bioware is saying "Hey! Take me! I'm the healer of your dreams...and cute too!.

haha yes.  Now I think of it, and without checking, all of Anders' conversations with male companions seem to be him winding them up.  He clearly doesn't appreciate the other men being around 

Hmm the voice....my desert island people are Simon Chadwick and Greg Ellis.  Although they'd probably swim for safety after I drove them to laryngitis making them talk to me and do voices all the time.
