Ceri is probably the one possessing him. Sort of thing she'd think was reasonable ;-)

Edited for ToP:
Anders is wondering how this is all going to work out...

I'm starting to warm to this whole abomination-spirit-possession-thing. Zevran and Wynne reminded me that this can be sexy:

{after Wynne's condition is revealed)

Zevran: I couldn't help hearing about your... predicament. Forgive me if I am prying...

Wynne: Yes, you are.

Zevran: ... but what does it feel like being possessed by a spirit?

Wynne: Why does this interest you so?

Zevran: I simply wish to get to know those that I travel with. Is that wrong of me?

Wynne: No, of course it isn't. Well... let me see. It is hard to describe. It is comforting... I... I feel safe, loved.

Zevran: Comforted, loved, yes...

Wynne: It is like being held close, cradled... the bond is so complete that I am unable to extricate myself, nor do I wish to. Wait... why do you have that look on your face?

Zevran: Mmm, I... I am simply imagining it. Continue, please.

Wynne: And there is a constant warmth, that spreads outwards from the very center of my being, infusing my body with--

Zevran: Ooh...

Wynne: Andraste's grace, what are you thinking about now? No, I don't want to know. I feel dirty. Do not speak to me.

I'm going to guess that Justice won't be like that. :)

He's still a Grey Warden. I doubt Justice would keep him from feeling The Calling.

Or would it?

Well, Justice could stay on in his body once it was dead. But it would be all Ghoul-y. Eww.

Another great post by Dr. Doctor over at Fenris thread (Prompt entry):

Dr. Doctor wrote...

Fenris in action is awesome. Anders as a confirmed companion is awesome. Anders however, has been changed a little from his old self. According to GI after a character sidequest our snarky mage buddy becomes host to a Spirit of Justice (I really hope that its Justice from Awakening). Anders is still Anders, but the spirit is assuming direct control  chimes in whenever it needs to say something. I must write:

Travel:

Varric: ...and I'm telling him that nug pie is a completely valid breakfast solution. Do you get what I'm saying?

Fenris:
(shoving another forkfull of eggs into his mouth) What are you on about?

Varric: I'm taking about...(notices Hawke walking in) Fen, quit filling your face for a second. Boss man's coming.

Fenris: Hawke is our friend, not our- (notices that Hawke is lacking his usual beard) well I wasn't expecting that.

Varric: Huh, I always thought that Isabela liked the beard, poor guy looks terrible. Two sovereigns says that the two of them were drunk last night. (Hawke walks up to the table and sits down)

Hawke:
(speaking in a slightly deeper voice) I hear that you're in the information business.

Varric: Well good moring too you too.

Hawke: I am not in the mood for plesantries Mr. Tethras. I am looking for someone, a Witch of the Wilds, can you help me?

Varric: Hey look Hawke, I don't know what you and Miss Pirate got up to last night, but there's no need to be rude.

Hawke: I have no clue who you think I am ser, but my name isn't Hawke.

Varric:
(sighs) Fenris, looks like he's a little rattled, must still need to sleep off whatever he had last night. Time to knock some sense back into him. (Fenris cracks his knuckles) Now hold still buddy, this'll only hurt for a second...

Anders:
(Walking in to the tavern) Commander!

Fenris: (confused) Commander? Mage, I think that the sprit has addled your mind. This is Hawke.

Justice: (popping into Anders' mind) I have done no such thing, this man who stands before you is the Commander of the Grey, the hero of the Fifth Blight, you will show him respect. (pops out of Anders)

Anders: (shaking his head) Andraste's flaming knickers Justice, will you give me some kind of warning when you do that? Where was I? Oh yes, hello Commander, fancy seeing you here.

Arnell: I can say the same thing to you Anders, what's Justice doing riding around in your head?

Anders: Its a long story. So what brings you to our fair city? Still looking for that lady of yours?

Arnell:
(nods head) I thought that the Ser Tethras here would have some sort of lead for me. I guess that I was wrong.

Fenris:
I think that you'll find that Varric can find out almost anything given enough time.

Varric: The elf's right, I know a great deal of things. For instance I know that your family will be surprised to see you.

Arnell: I have no family, I was taken in by the Circle as a child.

Varric: Ah, but that's where you're wrong. Hawke, the man who we mistook you for is a decendant of the noble house of Arnell, and don't you dare go saying you're not related, because the family resemblance is uncanny.

Arnell: Well then, consider yourself hired.

Anders: Alright then, we'll go meet Hawke, and see everyone and I'll get you up to speed on what's been going on....

(the pair walk out of the Tavern)

'Gratz to the Anders fans.

Anders put on his puppy face and asked really nicely and the writers brought him back for another go.

Hi all!

I'm extremely excited that Anders is a confirmed companion... but I am also extremely dubious about this Spirit of Justice possession thing.  I just hope Anders is still in there and an LI.

Also, was I only one who thought of that Lord of the Rings fanfiction The Bagenders (not mine) immediately when I read that?  Specifically the one where Boromir's spirit gets stuck in Legolas's body?  I recommend that any fans of LOTR and crack fic go read it, but that's neither here nor there.

I'm having a hard time seeing the middle ground with the possession thing.  I know the writers will do a spectacular job of it, but all I can picture is either completely outlandish hijinks as Anders irritates the hell out of the spirit OR something very solemn.

@Leggywillow Remember, this is DG. He managed to make both the Alistair romance and the Zevran one extremely poignant despite the humour. I have no doubt it will be done well.

Speaking of Anders in DAII (just read that) I wanted to make a comment but I looked on 3 threads on the subject on the DAII forum and they were all locked so I gave up and came back here because I was fed of of scrolling through the pages looking for one that was still open! Does that mean we will see Ser Pounce-a-Lot again? I'm hoping so, love that kitty :)

I don't see much use in Justice replacing Ander's personality. If they wanted to bring only Justice's persona back, they could have easily done so with Justice inhabitant another body instead of Anders.

This is absolutely glorious and I'm tempted to throw it on my desktop to cheer me up later. Stupid, sexy Anders.

Also, someone on The Other Thread pointed out that if it is The Justice, what with him having existed in a Grey Warden body, he could possibly confer some abilities to Anders, thus covering the "I sent Anders with the templars like a gigantic douche!" games.
