I may try cranking it a bit just to see what happens.   Considering I've now read an article where one of the BioWare guys was demoing the game on a MacBook Air, I have the feeling the recent desktops can handle it just fine....

eta for gratuitous Anders content: I just had the deeply anachronistic mental image of him tinkering with a computer, or perhaps a smartphone, and now my brain is officially broken for the night. 


eta2:  Huh -- just fired up Witch Hunt, bumped the graphics to High and it's made it through several combat sequences without a hitch.  I might try Very High later.  Promising!

@Miri, I'm amazed that Jennifer Hepler reads fan's discussions! And that she gives answers. What she said about rivalry makes me think my Cassy will have friendship only with Merrill XD And maybe Varric. But I always thought my Hawke's relationships with Anders won't be easy. And I love it! The only person in Origins I could argue with was Sten. He was giving me approval just for being sane and logical, even if I disagree with him. And Morrigan didn't give me disapproval a few times when I explained why I was doing what I was doing.

I think the rivalry-friendship thing is more realistic. We all love our friends, but we do argue sometimes, right? O, March, come sooner!

I have purposely not read the thread (and I appreciate the warnings). I don't have DAII yet. But the title implies Anders appears in DAII and has his way with some Templars. If this is true I might suggest changing the title, because many people like me want to be completely surprised on our first play through. Of course, I may be reading it completely wrong.

And now back to spoilers:


I've finished watching DAII demo gameplay videos, and it seems like we won't have a chance to select Anders for our party.  And that means one more week of waiting... *puppy face* BioWare are mean to Anders' fans. They love to make us wait! First they give us him in Awakening with no romance option, then they show screenshots from every love scene except his and now he's not even in demo. Isn't is a jedi training, people? No wonder Miri developed some epic jedi powers 
It will be so hard not to play OOC when my Hawke will finally meet Anders! I'll be reminding myself that he's a stranger and she wasn't waiting for him for almost a year.

@Lupus, you're not alone! Of course when those guys are like my dad, then I'd rather fly to the Moon than see them angry, but it works with paragons of cutiness like Anders XD

@nenosronhir, I love both the story and the picture. Poor Anders. Though I imagined his dad less fanatical, more scared than angry. I hope Anders will tell us about it... Or maybe he won't. In Awakening he didn't seem eager to share his problems.

@Gala: I wonder if he wasn't ready to talk in Awakening since he was saving up all his stories for when he met Hawke. Really, like you said... MONTHS ago when the thread started, we know next to nothing about Anders' past. I really think, knowing all we do now, it's because they wanted to keep his personal story fresh for DA2.

@Lupus there was that post from one of the devs saying that Anders past was spoilery - remember? Out of all the speculation about whether or not he was going to be in DA2 that little post was the one thing that gave me the most hope. Why would it be spoilery if they weren't going to go into it at some point?

NO ONE has DA2 yet.

I'm really hoping that "But the title implies Anders appears in DAII and has his way with some Templars" doesn't mean that you think that 'Anders didn't do it but he will' means that Anders is going to sexually assault some templars. I'm not even sure how it remotely implies that.

It just means he's a freaking LI and that information barely counts as a spoiler.

@Lupus, I knew they had plans for him. Because we kept asking questions and writers were ignoring them! But it took so long that I started to lose hope to meet Anders again, and when I saw that first screenshot I thought: "He's probably a cameo " And now he's a LI and he has Justice, and we're going to learn EVERYTHING about them! I'm supressing an epic squee here, because it's 11 p.m. and my neighbours have small children XD

Ahh, I use Sims to make the waiting easier. I've found my old Sim!Anders and he looks just like DAII!Anders. Now he lives with Cassia and Carver Hawke. Carver is not happy XD
