This was posted in the other thread. Makes me feel a bit better about the change in VA.

Oh, and hi, I think this is my first post on this thread after much lurking.

Cave, that's too adorable. And he looks so grumpy!

@Lupus, I don't think templars killed Malcolm. because if they exposed the father as a mage, they would probably have his children put under vigilant watch. And this would probably be a reason to leave Lothering.

cave_fatuam wrote...
@Lupus, I think you could still make things fit that Templars killed Papa Hawke. You might have to get a wee bit creative concerning Bethany/Hawke not being caught, but you're the gal who's pairing Jowan and a Brosca. I've got faith in your ability to sort things out. :D

Oh, this one's easy.

He was traveling, the templars didn't know who he was or where he was from, nor did they care, since he was just an apostate they had to get rid of. When he didn't come home someone went out to look for him. Saw the body, maybe, and on the way back to town saw the templars with blood on them. Two and two together, ta-da.

Ditto. {smilie}{smilie}

Same! I keep an Ali romance save for all the races just for Anderstair screencaps. (and now the 'name doesn't mesh well with Alistair' Jowan ones)
The actual games? Pure Zev.

@Wedger, The box is even better if you imagine the tiny elf mage attempting to scoot it across the floor. :D

@Miri, Thanks! If I had one, I'm mail him to you... okay, no I wouldn't, but I would try to rustle you up a plane ticket to visit. hehe

@Lupus, Thanks. Poor grumpy little Andy-pandy. Hawke'll have to keep him from the door or he'll scratch on the screen 'cause he misses Mae. XD

And I knew you'd solve the Mr. Hawke problem right quick. ;D

@Avayla, Thanks! Anders is just lucky Mae didn't put a bow on him. XD

I just realized I named my Hawke Adalida Hawke, so Addie Hawke... which will end up being Ad Hawke b/c I'm lazy. I named her Ad hoc. XD
Oh Maker, I'm rolling with it.

Mine is Maureen.

Mo to her friends.

hehehehehe

Maybe she did put a bow on him.

Where she knew it would be most appreciated. Hawke just won't notice until THUNDERCATS ARE GO!

(god, I'm slowly going mad. I blame microsoft, I'm currently trying to migrate my laptop to 7 pro from vista home basic.)

@Cave, this picture is so adorable! Aww, I hope lady Hawke will take a good care of our favourite apostate.

@Lupus, I hope they will explain it in game.

Hm, I can actually see Anders asking Hawke/Bethany and Merrill about their training outside the Circle. Because they are examples that mages actually don't need the Harrowing or to be locked somewhere. And I'm sure he sees the irony in Chantry assertion that harrowed mages can't become possessed.

Hawke: What's it like to be in the Circle?

Anders: Ooooh, it's a great place, you know. We have all types of fun: books, templars staring at your back, cute tranquil guys with funny voices, hundreds of footsteps between you and your dinner. But my favourite part is the Harrowing! This is a precious experience, every apprentice dreams about it!

Hawke: It doesn't sound like fun to me.

Anders: It's because you've never been in the Tower! You apostates miss so much *sigh*

Hawke: Tell me about this Harrowing. What is it?

Anders: It's a really cool party for really cool mages. You go to the Fade and meet a demon and you kick his demon arse to prove that you can't become an abomination.

Hawke: I see. I take it you failed your Harrowing?

Anders: Are you kidding? I succeeded with the best result ever. And I was the best until your cousin has beaten my record.

Hawke: So, they told you you couldn't become an abomination?

Anders: *sigh* Yes. But you know, one thing I never liked about the Circle was how often they were mistaken.

Hawke: *pats his furry shoulder* I think your situation proves that you are extremely talented in breaking all the rules.

Anders: *chuckles* Glad you've noticed! I've been working hard to develop that skill and it's always good to be appreciated! :D

@Lupus,
*sporfle*
That would be the best gift-wrapping job ever.
-Umph, umph, clothes ripped asunder-
Hawke: Have you had that on there since...
Anders: Since, I left the Wardens...
Hawke: Why didn't you just...
Anders: You don't know Mae.
Hawke: Surely, you could just...
Anders: -slow head shake- Mae.
Hawke: Bu-
Anders: MAE.

@Gala, I'm dead. XD

ETA: Also! I can show you all this now! A whole comic of Anders smutty, silly goodness that I did for Lupus...NSFW

@Gala, I never failed to appreciate the irony that the strongest abomination you meet in the whole of DA:O is Uldred. A HARROWED MAGE. Go figure.

@Miri: I hadn't thought of Uldred in a while, but you're right.  Any which way, though, a harrowed mage would be awfully tempting demon-bait for the more ambitious demons out there. (Read: "Hmm, here comes a tasty tasty mage, one who's proven himself, one who has bested powerful foes... but none so powerful as I. Just think of what we could do together. Muahahahahaha, etc."  Or, for that matter, imagine it in the inverse....)

Meanwhile, I'm now in a bit of a quandary. I WANTED to play a mage, but I just tried the demo again as a rogue... and it's a bleepton easier (...as one might say when trying to keep the profanity screener happy). Plus, I like Bethany more. Indecision! Woe! :)

did you try the demo as a Bow Rogue. So easy!

I love the duel welding action of the rogue. Lots o' fun.

And I like Bethany too. Her VA was very well done.

I've been dreaming of Anders Mods. I hope there will be a tool set. Have we heard on that?

@Miri, yes, Chantry was wrong. I think they just like killing kids. Because it's dark fantasy!

@Page, I thought rogues were easier too.

Sketch:

Anders: Draw meeeee!

Me: No, I'm playing demo!

Anders: Demo sucks, for I'm not there.

Me: Ok, I'll sketch you.

Although at first I thought you were going to - you know- write about Sketch, the awsome elf mage. But then, I realized you were actually "sketching"!

Really?  I didn't find my rogue playthrough any easier than my mage one.  Totally agree with you on Bethany, though.  Carver's kind of a douche.

I do think I'm going to play rogue first, because that's my Anders-lovin' gal.

My mage playthrough, against the ogre: the whole party wiped FIVE TIMES. Only Hawke was conscious at the end.
My rogue playthrough, against the ogre: felled it in one try, no deaths.

Go figure.

I liked Carver. Possibly because he reminds me of my RL younger-brother. And I forgave him for fighting with Bethany about why they didn't leave earlier because of the whole twin thing.

I quite liked Carver too, actually, and I preferred his voice actor to Bethany's. And I got all wibbly in a mum kind of way when Mama Hawke said "my little boy!". (probably didn't help that I was playing through the demo with my six month old son on my lap).

Back onto Anders (hur hur, and OH I WISH) but I've been playing Leliana's Song (finally finished it) and it's interesting to note that Silas' (who is played by Anders' new VA) battle cries are nearly all to do with how good it is to be free from imprisonment.

*glares at bioware*

The conspiracy theories are stacking up in my little "bioware is evil" box.

@dpMeggers, I liked Carver too, but then again I have a passel of younger brothers. Maybe somethings that would be interpreted as unpleasantness by someone else we just shrug off as brother nonsense. ;D

@Miri, Ya know, I never really thought about Silas' battle cries, but that's so true! Bioware and the wicked, wicked web they're weaving.

@Miri, I'm looking at it like this: You can be in a relationship, but still acknowledge that other people are attractive. In the same way, I will adore Greg Ellis' Anders, but still think that Adam Howden has a very nice voice.

@cave, That's entirely possible. I wonder if only children will have a harder time relating to Bethany and Carver then. And on that note, I'm wondering if Anders had siblings.

@Miri, His voice is lovely... I'm certainly not going to hate listening to him talk. I mean, it's going to be Anders, so I'd hang on every word, but his voice being lovely certainly helps.

@dpMeggers, A little at least. It's a whole different mentality.
Anders could have siblings that he doesn't know exists. :< That could lead to all kinds of hillariously awkward scenarios considering how attractive he thinks he is... well, is, but ya know, vanity and all. *snicker*
