Hm, now that you ladies mentioned this, I think that maybe I like Carver because I have a brother too, and though we often argue and used to fight a lot when we were kids, we are still bffs and, you know, family.

Besides, I think rivalry with Carver is more fun than friendship with Bethany.

Now I'm thinking if it's possible that Anders has siblings. Would be cool to meet them!

I have a younger brother and sister and they are both awesome and I love them to death. That being said, I'm more drawn to Bethany at the moment and I suppose it can be chalked up to the fact that my sister is my best friend.

God, I hope she's not a clone of Goldanna.

Overprotection doesn't bother me because I know it's misplaced and done out of love.  Besides, I plan on playing up the rivalry thing.

I don't think "Goldanna" will happen to Anders. And he probably tried to get back to his family during one of his "holidays" from the Circle, and I suspect he discovered that it was a bad idea. Maybe he will tell Hawke about it. In his unique manner:

Hawke: Blah-blah-blah, and so we were running from the templars all my life. Carver just hated it. My sister, father and I - we were always hanging out together, busy with our magic, we didn't have many friends because it was dangerous. But my brother loved to play with other kids and every time we left a long-occupied place I knew that he thought it was our fault that he had to part with his friends.

Anders: But at least you all were together, it's not a bad thing? My parents had chosen to give me to the templars rather than leave their farm. Can't say I blame them. I was an untrained little disaster after all.

Hawke: A very cute disaster, I bet.

Anders: Oooh, you have no idea! *smirks*

I was thinking that too, but it looks like he's doing the crackle/glowy thing in the first one, also? ;A; Unless maybe it's an sustain/aura, like Wynne's spirit thinger was? Auuugh suspense, it keels me!

And is it just me, or does the first image of mage!Hawke look like he's doing blood magic? And bears a striking similarity to the crackle/glowy bits on Anders, except in red? CONSPIRACY I SAY (but I think that he's just super wounded and paralyzed or slowed or something, I seem to remember that effect popping up in the demo... I think)

@page, I agree wholeheartedly. He can make things burst into flames with his mind and cuddle? Sign me up...but then again, my sense of shame picked up and left a long time ago in protest with extreme prejudice. ;D

Just as a little side note, everyone's hands, both gestures and general wiggly things sticking out of arms context, look so much better in this game.

Oh, my mage!Hawke and Anders are going to have so much fun setting fire to things and 'sploding them! I'm actually tempted to see if a three mage party will work - I'll have Anders, Merrill, Hawke and Aveline. Especially if there's some sort of break lock ability which will mean we don't need a rogue...
