@Miri RE: Merrill, I caught one of the concept arts for Merrill - and I swear if they'd kept her closer to that than the kind of cutesy thing they did with her in-game, I would definitely go mage-party-bonanza. Picking a group for this game is going to be hard as it is though, because I'm actually interested in ALL the characters, unlike Origins. *weeps*

@Miri, I favor a mage-heavy party anyway. I would put up with Wynne and Morri-Porri hatin' on me while Alistair tumbled after just for the sweet, sweet magics. I want Aveline, Anders, and Merill to I think, but I wanna throw in Isabela for the occasional awkward situtaion. XD

Ooooh! Screenshot one is absolutely blood magic, you can see the blood flying from his hand in the larger version. Very, very cool.

I'm thinking that crackling blue is a sustainable. In my nightmares it's game breakingly awesome.... and so agonizing Anders complains about it all the time and will only use it if you make him.

@Gala unfortunately Steam has national servers - in Australia you get it from Steam LATER than the Australian release date (at least, that's what happened with Awakenings for me). I'm kind of glad I ordered it direct from EA this time, they have NO EXCUSE not to put it on sale on the 10th.

That's the one good thing about getting it in person. It'll be in my hot little hands as soon as I get to Gamestop. No DLing. Of course, I also might have arranged it so I don't work on the 8th and will have loads of time to play... maybe...possibly. *whistles*

I may have booked the 8th to the 11th off work (I have a really flexible work schedule). I may also be at EB before it opens...because of bus schedules! Not because I'm really impatient or anything.

Edit: My boyfriend was teasing me about the possibility of a midnight release. There are some things that you should just not dangle in front of fans. We want this game NOW.

I think shooter games are the only games I've ever seen have a midnight release. Not that I dislike shooters, I enjoy them, but I remember asking the Gamestop guy if Mass Effect 2 was having a midnight release and he just snorted and laughed at me. <_<

Midnight release is decided on a per-store basis for Gamestop. My local one did have a midnight release for ME2. Not sure about DA2, but I got mine on D2D.

I ordered mine from Amazon; it's supposed to be release-date delivery and that's been reliable, but I don't know exactly what time during the day the thing will show up. Insert picture here of me GNAWING MY NAILS.

@Lupus, Our game stop is tiny. If they are open, we'll probably get the poor new girl who can't work the computer, bless her little heart. All the Call of Duty's get a midnight release, but that's about it.
