I have to say, I love how dark the plotline is. Makes my fic look downright *cheerful*.

Oooo. I was referring to the movie loosley based off the historical event.
This is the scene in particular that I was thinking of when it happened in the game.

Lupus and I were talking about the actual historical event.

Alan Moore, who wrote V for Vendetta often references historical events in interesting ways. From Hell is his work too.
Let's just be glad we got Guy Fawkes Anders and not Jack the Ripper Anders.

Since Awakenings first came out I've always been an Anders fan, (well Alistair does have to come first lol) but Anders always had a spot with my F!Wardens n I was bummed when he wasn't romanceable in Awakenings. Ya I prob would've cheated on Alistair with Anders, so sue me
Ok now that I've said my p's n q's I'll go back to lurkin

References, yeah, but I was speaking of the actual gunpowder plot which seems a lot closer given the religious dynamic in involved (which Moore didn't draw upon, really), not the movie. That's why I didn't get the connection- the religion aspect was forefront in my mind.
(And, well, since it's me I still would have been all "hur, movie?" since I read the comic when I was like thirteen and it will always be a comic first in my mind)
OK, crazy, since me too. Like, I have that site with all of the old police reports and so on bookmarked, I'm endlessly fascinated by it, and constantly wondering WHO IT WAS.Miri1984 wrote...
@Cave OMG yes. From Hell is an amazing film. I'm completely fascinated with Jack. Morbidly so.
Why yes, I have looked at police photos of victorian murder victims for fun.
Why is everyone looking at me like that?
And... back to Anders.
I have to finish Apostates of Amaranthine.
But I REALLY want to start a DA2 fic. Like something fierce.

I totally have casebook.org bookmarked. I also may or may not have reconstructed the Mary Jane Kelly photo out play doh for my introduction to sculpture class. I really do miss the yearly Discovery channel Jack the Ripper specials they used to do before they decided to do shows about crab boats. -le sigh-
I know what you mean. Dragon Age II has been considerably more distracting artistically than I thought it would be.
Alas, I wrenched my wrist at work today, so I haven't been able to draw anything worth noting, but I have so many rough post-it note sketch outlines for after I heal up and get done with my seemingly growing stack of commissions.
West Young, Warden!Vengeance Anders is violently calling to me with his black duster coat and chicken hawk jokes.

@Leggywillow Sad, but not. I knew it wasn't going to be tea and roses. I didn't know HOW it was not going to be tea and roses, and I'm pretty angry with him for what he put me through in Act III, but it didn't end quite as hideously as I was afraid it would.

It's amazing, isn't it? I was legitimately pissed off at him several times, just for how he was treating the other companions. I ran with him, Varric and Aveline for most of Act 3 and I dubbed it Team Concern. I think every trip probably ended with some sort of intervention efforts.
THIS to both!!

Wow. I started DA2 on Saturday and I just finished. Wow. This one was SO deep! I found myself walking away from the screen with major plot-twisting decisions waiting in the balance while I contemplated the fate of Kirkwall. Can't believe how involved I got! I played a duel weilding rogue and I romanced the hell out of Anders. But, yea, Act 3...I was SO pissed at him! Not because of what happened, though that was hard enough to take. I was mad I wasn't told. Er...I mean Hawke wasnt told. Lol, my husband must think I'm nuts. I was raging at him "Can you believe he did that to me?!" Thank the Maker he's a gamer too and he gets it haha!

I think I must have missed my downloads for the DLC, so I didn't get my Eye Candy Team. But I'm going to play again as a mage, see what fun I can cook up that way. I had Anders (der
Anyway, I really loved the game. I can't believe how dark and angsty it was, but it was a really amazing story.
Oh, and a couple fun ones of Anders... just cuz.

Anders: I keep thinking I know you from somewhere.
Isabela: You’re Ferelden, right? Ever spend time at the Pearl?
Anders: That’s it! You used to like that girl with the Griffon tattoos, right? What was her name?
Isabela: The Lay Warden?
Anders: That’s right! I think you were there the night I –
Isabela: Oh, were you the runaway mage who could do that electricity thing? That was nice!
Hawke: Please. Stop talking. Now.
Too bad Hawke told them to stop talking!
Wouldn't you want to know what tricks he can do with electricity?

I think he's still doing magic. When he comes to Hawke's house at night, when he touches her face, it looks like his fingers are smoking a little. Or maybe it's another video glitch, I have so many!Dunizel wrote...

I missed "funny Anders" at the beginning and ... hum ... the voice too, I admit. But ... Wow.
Now, I gonna read the last 10 chapters of AoA. Well, not yet, I have to sleep a little I suppose. But, Lupus, if you write another story, be sure I'll read it.

I'm so not, though.
(And I totally RP'd that conversation as a sick-of-sleeping-alone Hawke being pissed since Isabela met carefree "anything that moves" Anders and she got the "We can't, I'll only hurt you" version)

I just had this funny and interesting banter between Isabela and Anders (and a spoilsport Hawke)

My Hawke had every reason to be a spoilsport then. I got that banter almost immediately after flirting with Anders and having him shoot down my flirtatious Lady Hawke with a "No, I'm not that man, break your heart, SERIOUS BUSINESS." Then Isabela starts going on about Anders's sex tricks. Hawke just sounds so desperate for them to shut up, and since in my game the poor thing was so sexually frustrated at that point, it was startlingly appropriate. I could definitely hear "OMG shut up, that is not fair!" in her tone, but maybe that's just me.

Aww, I love the banter so much! Except Fenris vs. Anders in the act 3. I want to stab Fenris in the eye. Seriously, it's obvious how bad Anders feels and the elf mocks him
And I love how Merrill told Anders about kittens and he asked her if there were tabbies. So cute! And when Anders tells the dog that the mabari can't sleep in the bed anymore, because now Anders sleeps there? Made my day.
