And... hehe, actually it's not the first time Anders dies, right? Darkspawn could kill him in Amaranthine, templars ran him through in the short story. Do you think that ridiculous knife can do it? I don't. I'm sure we will hear of him in DA3.

Actually, this is an interesting idea. With all he has gone through (not everyone kills a Broodmother for example or hundreds of darkspawns defending the keep), and with a Spirit inside him...I doubt a knife can kill him o_O Even if it is the Marvelous Murder Knife of Wonders.
If anything, I suppose Justice can keep him alive and heal him, like the spirit inside Wynne did. And Wynne appeared to me more tired and exhausted than Anders at times. I just wouldn't want him to turn in a sort of undead again, with Justice controlling his corpse as with Kristoff.
Even if maybe somehow I had the impression Anders wanted to die...in this case probably he would allow himself to fade (if Justice doesn't take control again o.O)

He is in a peculiar situation that allows tons of speculations! I suppose they can decide again to bring him back from death if the story necessitates him.

I just saw the scene with Anders talking to the mabari today :( He misses Ser Pounce-a-lot

And here, a funny insight on the life in Ferelden Circle (suddenly I thought of Zevran, when he asked Wynne if it wasn't true that they danced naked in the moonlight...)

I'm still trying to figure out how the Justice/Anders meld actually happened since, in my game, Anders was with my Warden killing the Mother when Justice lost his head at the Keep.

Corpses everywhere. What's one compared to another? He probably found a new, um... "home" until the deal could be done.

I love that line about the Ferelden circle. My "mages are ****ty" theory is cannon... at least in Ferelden. Who knew?

Mage Hawke ran off with him too. I wonder if she and rogue Hawke will have to fight at some point...

It's a bit sad that when you load the postgame save, Anders is not at home. Of course, we don't know what time is that, maybe it's before he moved in.

Heh, took Seb today for a walk with Anders and Varric. And he started: "Varric, you should forgive your brother, vengeance is bad, blah-blah-blah..." He should thank his Maker that there's no "Punch Seb" option. Boy really doesn't know what he wants. I want a DLC: "Talk some sense into Sebastian" with him embracing Qun in the end. Apparently he's not getting Andraste's teaching, he needs something easier to follow. And Qun is awesome for people who don't know what they want.

Ok, back to Anders:

Hehe, I want to pair this Marina Andras with Carver now :) But maybe she's too old for him.

@I think Hawke is ruled by emotions in that moment and may regret later. .

That makes for some really good roleplay though. At the moment, I'm playing a female Isbela type character who pretty much flirts with everyone. I intend for her to finally emotionally connect with Anders, for him to do that and for her to 'murder him'. And ta-da, you have a very badly damaged emotional Hawke.

Oh, that's a nice way to go about it. I can see that making for some fun (well, not "fun" but interesting) postgame fic.

[ DA 2 SPOILER ALERT!!!!! ]

Thank you so much for this thread, you have been a lifesaver!

I waited for DA2 to come out and expected it to be amazing, but I did not expect it to be so heart wrenching, it's made me laugh and cry myself to sleep, and I can't eat or concentrate on my bloody graduate work at all! I as so upset after the Justice quest, I expected something really bad but what Anders did still caught me totally off guard and I was so shocked and angry at him it took me like a sleepless night to decide what to do with him. I spared him, of course. Like people mentioned before, killing him wouldn't have been justice, but vengence. Even though the two are o intertwined I can't tell where one ends and the other begins, hah.

Also I didn't mind the grand cleric but the whole "oh its all in the maker's hands if they get over their differences or not" was so bull**** it made me angry. Meredith was clearly out of line, she was insane and oppressive and bloodthirsty. The grand cleric had the power to stop her if she wanted to but that would mean siding with the "cursed ones" which is also bull****. The way I see it, if we had done nothing, Meredith would have slowly exterminated and tranquilized us all, if we had waited for the Devine to to send her armies mages would have got killed AGAIN, we were always going to loose no matter what happened. And as much as I hate extremes and I think it's wrong to be extreme, and it took me a long time to come to terms with my own opinion, what Anders did, is force the mages to start fighting. We would have all preffered for things to stay quiet and "peaceful" and pretending it's all alright and we're not oppresing and mutilating people for being born different. Now the mages will rise, is it the right thing to do? or the wrong thing to do? Is the Tevinter Emperium better or worse than The Chantry? I think change is always horrific and it is in the nature of most of us to try to avoid it. I do believe that their system needs to change. There was no room for change before, and now there is.

Hehehehe, I'm re-playing Sebastian's quest now and this time I took a pic of their faces when they saw "the complete prude":

The DLC was worth buying, totally!

I had the funniest reply from Anders yesterday, and forgive me, I think it was the best served cold quest. Anyway, I had my sarcastic fem Hawk reply with "will I have to slice my wrist and dance under the moon naked ?" And Anders replies: "I'd pay to see that!" I loved that part.  Has anyone else gotten that response yet?

I wish my fem Hawk could've replied with: "Oh, you can see that anytime at home for free."

@reelirish, I think I had it, I just don't remember where exactly or what quest it was. Sarcastic Hawke rocks, I've just recorded her love scene with Anders and when he asks her about living together, she sighs that it will ruin all the fun.

Ouch, and I've just allowed Justice to kill Ella. Maker's breath, it was painful to watch. I had to re-load and kill all templars again and stop him. He's like Anakin Skywalker in episode 2, goes berserker and then jumps to the Dark Side in the act 3, even wears the Sith robes. I can see a dying pregnant Hawke wispering to Cullen that Anders still has some good in him. And then Cullen holysmites Anders and leaves, and then Flemeth comes and makes him Darth Junders... I'm not drunk, btw. Though it may be those drugs they give me at hospital.

God, sarcastic Hawke is the best Hawke. And the Image IPB the other companions give Anders at that point is quick but funny.

And, even more brutal than Justice killing Ella is fighting Anders at the Gallows in the end if you side with the templars (and not even F!Hawke voice can work up any enthusiasm for that task) and set him free. Fenris rushed in and took care of things with alarming speed, and I couldn't even make Hawke defend herself after that. She just stood over his body with her sword out looking like Image IPB. Oddly enough, his body was gone after the fight while all the others remained. So...

Hm, a screenshot I've found in Anders' folder. Funny that I took it long before I've found out about his business in the Chantry.

^ Actually....I thought the Chantry was built by dwarves.....Doesn't it say that in one of the little 'hints' you get at the loading screen?

Maybe I'm just seeing things.

The building in which the Kirkwall Chantry is housed was built by dwarves. The institution of the Chantry was built by men.

And Anders ruined both. :) I wonder if that stuff he invented is better than qunari powder. It may be cool to arm Fereldan fleet with cannons in case Sten will come back and bring his friends.
(Why do people keep seeing the Boom as a bad thing? Maybe Anders made a revolution in war industry. :))

I kind of wonder if Sandal didn't give him some help. If Anders lives with Hawke,  Bodahn does mention that Anders finds his enchantments "intriguing".

@Surely, I was sure Sandal helped. Anders also shows some knowledge of qunari explosives even in act 1, and now when Bodahn mentioned that they were playing with enchantments... We all know that Anders lives right under Amell estate, and Hawke gave him the "key to her heart" :) I think he and Sandal built their bomb right there. And this must have been a really cool bomb. So small that Anders brought it into the Chantry in his pocket.

Also, it hit me today that Anders and Bhelen Aeducan have some similarities. They both make you curse really hard, a lot of people hate them, but they both try to change the world and make it better. And Bhelen is quite romantic too, I wonder if his love for Rica was one of the reasons why he did what he did.

Wow, it's gorgeous. DAII made people do so many awesome Anders arts. I think I'll be ready to go to back to Cullen soon, knowing that Anders won't be forgotten :)
BTW, who's ready to start prompts again? I want! Now we know so much new stuff about Anders, I want to use this knowledge. I even have a perfect and angsty idea for the next prompt... I'll do it anyway, but it would be better with you, guys.

Great! I miss our prompts and the activity here. Can't read the other thread because every time I wake up it's 30 new pages and no time to read them at all. I probably miss a lot, but this thread feels like home.

BTW, I've missed the anniversary! Awakening was released on the 19th of March and I forgot to get drunk and do a happy dance. At least he got a kiss from my Hawke that day.
Just imagine it: it's been a year since we met Anders.
