No, we don't want massive armour on him, it obscures the shoulders... and the arms... and the OH, it's too early in the morning to be having these kinds of thoughts....
All armour except the robe does that imho - hence why I encourage Anders to never wear anything but a robe.
Hmm, robes....

Anders has been demanding too much of my time today. I'd like to slow down my updates since my fic is winding down but he keeps giving me ideas.

Hey, me too! I only let him wear whatever he was wearing when I found him inside the prison cell.Avilia wrote...

I like the Tevinter look as well. Its just that I made that robe specially for Anders (Its called "Anders Robe of Gorgeousness" ;-) ), so I like to see him in it if I play a char from Origins.
I know, I know, I'm strange.

Marina wanted to tell him that she was kidding: "Of course I remember you, Anders! You are unforgettable! Even though we never met because I came from Orlais"

Awww, when a PC who is a mage meets Anders, Anders says that he recognizes you. But if you ask him, who is he, he makes such a sad face because you don't remember him:

Awww, that face made me lower lip pout too!!! Anders, you would be totally unforgetable. <3<3<3

He never mentioned that. He says that he was skilled in escaping from the Tower, and in Orlais the Circle is situated in the fortress. Maybe devs meant that our orlesian warden was recruited from fereldan Circle (but my Marina wasn't, she's 100% orlesian girl).Sarah1281 wrote...
Maybe Anders has escaped to Orlais before?
What I love about Anders is his ability to smile. Even when he's standing in a room full of corpses inside the fortress full of darkspawn, he can still find a cutest smile for two ladies:

I just can't tell him to go away after that.

I think you're misunderstanding me. I'm suggesting that one of the times Anders escaped the Tower he managed to get to Orlais and saw her before being brought back.He never mentioned that. I agree on the smile. And I like that, even if you ****** him off in conversation, he will usually end it on the same positive note. He's just gonna be awesome and, if the two of you don't hit it off, he doesn't much care.

I have him as knowing how to speak Orlesian fluently, although that I think might be because of a preference for a *certain type* of literature that is often written in that language - although perhaps given Zevran's proclivities he should be more fluent in Antivan... Maybe he's good at both? I figure he might have had Orlais as a possible end destination in mind when he first started trying to escape.
This is funny. I keep a copy of The Rose of Orlais with me for nostalgia (I have this weird, involved idea of the companions I left at camp starting their own book club and that was Sten's favorite) and now I'm imagining Anders finding it amongst the Cousland stuff in the storage chest and being all "I knew it" and then reading it out loud at dinner to try and embarrass Nathaniel (only to find out that Oghren has the whole thing memorized).

The second reason is my own impression that he didn't want to leave Ferelden. I think the idea of living among foreign people who don't understand his jokes would be terrifying to him

I have him as passable in Orlesian as well, for similar reasons. (as well as Antivan, but I figured all mages could speak Tevinter since it seems most magic books would be written in it). Not that he ever specifically planned to go to Orlais, just that he learned as many languages as he could incase he ever made it that far.Miri1984 wrote...

And geographically, unless he got the money for a boat somehow, he would need to at least pass through Orlais to reach anywhere else in Thedas.
My Anders is a bit of a secret bookworm, though.

Well, there's exception for every rule: when I'd burned Amaranthine he was angry at me till the end of the game. I will never be bad again. There's no greater punishment than Anders' disdain:crying:SurelyForth wrote...

I didn't take him with me when I decided to burn Amaranthine, so he was *thrilled* when we came back to the Keep. I sort of love how everyone's all "Yay! The Warden-Commander! We might all actually live!" and then whoever (Garavel, probably) has to rain on everyone's parade with the news about Amaranthine. It's bad enough with the horrible cutscene, no need to rub my callous decision in.

I only did it once, for the achievement's sake. It broke my heart to see it!
Hey, I am top! Here is something to celebrate!
