And I agree, I have sympathy for Irving. He's got Stockholm Syndrome, same as Wynne, when it comes down to it. He's working to keep the system in place, but he's so brainwashed nothing else would even occur to him. Anders is probably very rare in that he came to the tower so late that the indoctrination just won't take, ever.

(also, Zevran is being very demanding of my muse as of late... I wish Anders would step up and call for attention.)

Edit for the top of the page...

I don't think any of us will...

(and hey, next page will be 100! I feel like that calls for something... but I have no idea what)

@Miri - I enjoyed reading your prompt very much. Poor Irving trying to deal with a teenager who's obviously old beyond his years.

I'm not a fan of Irving tbh (in case that wasn't obvious by now) but I do feel some sympathy for his predicament. I suppose....

I lost a great deal of respect for Irving when I was trying to roleplay a very good mage girl who refused to help Jowan but also didn't want to betray her friend. And then she was summoned by Irving who told her: I know Jowan will try to escape, help him and tnen betray him. I was furious, how dare he to ask of such things? Since then all my mages are apostate sympathizers. :) Or apostate lovers :D

I went ahead and copied y'all and put The Picture my as phone's wallpaper. It makes everything better. Hilariously, my boyfriend grabbed it one morning to check the weather and was like "Damn" before giving me the "You and your pixelated obsessions" look.

I suggest that we celebrate page 100 the way the Alistair thread celebrates their milestones- with an orgy of appreciation and pictures. Clothing optional, of course.

@Miri1984: You know, I never really thought about Irving be off for months outside of the Tower. I knew that other senior enchanters could do it but kind of figured that the First Enchanter couldn't just leave. Then again, the Kinght-Commander up and went to Denerim in WH so I suppose as long as he's at the Tower most of the time he has some leeway. Poor angry, angsty Anders...even if he realized that Irving wasn't really trying to get at his mother he would likely still resent that line of questioning, perhaps even more so because it's just for show. Anders is definitely the perfect argument for taking mages when they're young, isn't he?

@Miri I just reread the last chapter of The Ties That Bind* and Irving best be thankful that Joscelyn taught Anders to be a good person. That line of questioning, considering the circumstances of Anders' capture, would have set a lesser person on the road to Explosionville (Population: Irving).

Oh, I like that one.
I also should do my LJ prompt but (I took 'hearing' and I think I'll do smut.  Since hey, why not?), as with yesterday, my muse is Zevran's b*tch.  I should just do a quick Awakenings run through to get Anders back into his proper place.

(also, I feel like I'm a total anomaly being a Zevran fan. It seems like most Anders fans were Alistair fans in Origins)

I'm more of a Zevran fan than an Alistair one despite Alistair being my first playthrough's LI. I tend to write more about Alistair because he's more relevant as far as Warden issues go but I think I'm better at writing Zevran. And Zevran never chronically ends the game utterly despising me unlike certain people I could mention...

I'm a pretty big fan of Zev as well. Alistair I can't stand though. Mainly because he reminds me of a petulant four year old. So any female character I played would more then likely end up with either Zev, or Leli.

My LJ prompt fic is 2300 words right now and I have a feeling I'm going to be agonzing over it for the next couple of weeks because it's weird and I am completely out of my depth with it. Ah, well.

Even though I haven't romanced him for a while, I adore Zevran as a character. Most Alistair fans who dig Anders do so because of surface similarities between the two but I think it would be more natural  for someone who romanced Zevran to end up with Anders. I think it doesn't happen very often (in fic) because Zevran is so completely devoted at the end of Origins that ending the relationship or cheating isn't really an option. I know I view my Tabris/Zevran and Aeducan/Zevran romances to be permanent, while only one of my Alistair romances feels built to last.

See, that's exactly what I did with my fic. It just seems like the two have so many deeper similarities than the Alistair/Anders minor superficial appearance similarities thing. Someone who likes flashy, flamboyant, cocky guys would definitely find both of them appealing.

I'd like to think I gave a good reason for the Zevran relationship ending. Since he wasn't in awakenings I had him disappear from Denerim a few months before the game start, but in a much later chapter she finally does find out just what happened and why. I spent a long time trying to come up with something where no one was the jerk of the situation. And I really wish I could say more since I honestly think the scene with the two of them is one of the best things I've ever written and I'm so so so pleased with how it turned out, but I know Gala's just starting that fic and I doubt she's anywhere close to that chapter yet.

Mmmm, must put the Picture as my phone's wallpaper too. Instead of Ser Pounce-a-lot eating the templars.
Must draw something new for celebration...

Oh, ABSOLUTELY. But he needed a really big reason to hate Irving in my books - I didn't know about that line of dialogue where he says he hates him until after I'd decided on Anders' parentage. My intention had always been to have Anders sort of amusingly tolerate Irving and his interactions with him in the other fics are a bit more like that, but absolute seething hatred (which is what that conversation inspired) makes the upcoming confrontation with him a bit more interesting than the one I had in my head.

I had such a hard time writing Ties - it's my only fic with an unhappy ending. Well - the only one so far any way. Who knows what's going to happen in Shades... At least I knew he was going off to meet Neria later on.

And I'm a total Alistair fangirl, but Anders has supplanted him completely. I think I mentioned before that I think Alistair is like your first love but Anders is the one you stick with..

I love Zevran as well but he's not my type in the same way Anders is. He's funny - but without the "goofy" that is an essential in pretty much all my relationships. I adore goofy men.
