Despite the advances in videogames graphicaly/sonicaly/technicaly I'm still not seeing what I still remember reading about 10 years ago now with regard to videogame advancement. Sure there are some pretty amazing looking games, thoroughly playable games, etc, but I still see something in particular that's not being addressed.

I believe the word is 'Clipping' i.e, when you have two characters standing next to each other, maybe one is holding a rifle and the barrel of said rifle is passing straight through your colleague/team mate. Or perhaps stood next to a wall and your weapon passes straight through the wall, and this is no trivial thing, one could also regard it as a game spoiler literally.

The reason being 'Clipping' reveals things to the player that wouldn't otherwise be known, now you know a guy is behind a door for example, you just saw his boot or weapon sticking through. That wall over there hold some type of creature, you just caught a glimpse of it's anatomy.

Also enemy A.I. is getting better but still not at the stage I expected it to be by now, I've played many games over the years and only one in particular is still etched in my memory as being pretty advanced, and I suppose ahead of it's time - 'Golden Eye' by Rare on N64 console.

Lastly 'Anti-aliasing' seems to be almost taking a back seat on PS3 for some reason, I've only seen a handful of games use it, but why?

So what is the truth with regard to 'Clipping' /'A.I.'/'Anti-aliasing in the industry today and how closer are we to reaching a stage where the above will finally be advanced/resolved?
