Out of curiosity... what class is your (everyone) primary Shepard and did they save or destroy the council? Asking their gender isn't really a point I guess. I'll start. My Shepard is named Jorgen. He is and Adept and he saved the council (just because you don't like a politician doesn't mean you should commit a military coup).
My Shepard (that you can see in my avatar) is named Mia. She was essentially Paragon, so she did save the Council, reasoning that the middle of a war is a really really bad time to have the political instability that losing the Council would cause.
