All.

So essentially, I'm trying to create certain custom pieces of armor/weapons that disregard stat requirements. I thought if I set the Material Type to "None", that would do the trick. No dice.

To be clear, I have a piece of Heavy Hrmor, using variation Heavy Armor C. Even with material type set to none, there is a STR requirement of 18, or something like that. When it comes down to it, I like the look of the armor itself, and don't really care to keep the existing system Dragon Age uses, with regards to the requirements and such.

I've looked at materialrules and materialtypes, and didn't find anything related to stat requirements and such. I have no problem overriding the existing types to remove this, but I don't know where to start.

Suggestions?

You can add a property to an item that removes stat requirements. I think it's under "Special" in the property dialogue?

The attributes requirements are actually linked to the basetype in the first place, materials rules only increase the base requirement if need be but don't define it. The BITM columns involved in that BITM sheet are ReqProp1 and ReqProp1Val, with ReqProp1related to the properties sheet.
So aside from setting a new basetype, the easiest route would prolly be the "no attribute reqs" item property. That being said, I never tried to define a new material rule with a negative requirement modifier; it may work. (but it's hacky...)

If appearance is all that interests you, perhaps just make a custom variation of one of the leather armours that uses the heavy armour mesh?

Thanks for the help, guys. I just ended up adding the "no attributes requirements" property, and all is well.
