Wrex was better. Grunt just doesn't seem to have enough character.

Wrex is different. He's a seasoned battlemaster, a veteran of many battles. Grunt is a child. His development is still before him. And he's such a happy Krogan. The only Krogan who can trump Grunt in the happiness department is the one on the Citadel if you give him a fish.

It's annoying when people try to compare Wrex and Grunt to claim one is better than the other, they are both clearly different characters. Wrex is a grizzled veteran with about a thousand years worth of experience, jaded and cynical about the direction his reace is headed, Wrex wants to uphold tradition. Grunt is the genetically-engineered treasure of a korgan zealot, designed to fight battles for Okeer's own ideals, Grunt rejects his purpose. Grunt is instead seeking his own journey, he wants to fight because he wants to, not because he is supposed to, musing about his place in the universe, he finally concludes that he just enjoys a good fight. And so he does.

The only similarities they have are that both are krogan.

Wrex is a great character for his cynicism and glibness, while wanting to restore the honor of his race.

Grunt is a great character because he chooses what he wants to be, as opposed to following the imprinted plans of his creator.

Haha your Shepard looks kinda mortified that Grunt is kissing her.

Honestly, I think Grunt was too "I must fight, it's in my blood, you will make a great foe Shepard, krantt blah blah krantt." I know that's how krogan are, but that's all he talked about. Wrex had tales of danger, greed, and love, while Grunt just talked about fighting. It would've been better in smaller doses but it was just kinda overdone.

Grunt just got ''birthed'' from a tank and you expect him to be full of personality and stories? All he knows is fighting, he was more or less born into the role of combatant......he's a Krogan super soldier. With a little more time out in the world Grunt will develop a stronger sense of who he is and with new experiences he will eventually have his own stories to tell. :)

I actually hope Grunt is in ME3, not necessarily for what he was in ME2, but because of what he can become. In ME2, Grunt is still relatively immature. He's tank bred, with "memories" and whatnot imprinted by Okeer, but he hasn't personally experienced much of life beyond where he's been with Shepard. I'd like to see him develop in ME3 into a more seasoned character. Hopefully, we'll get the chance to see something like this.

I found Grunt to be an interesting character concept that had a number of really great lines but ultimately did not live up to what he potentially could have been.

Of course, that's just me whining about wasted philosophical ramifications in a character who was never purported to be a philosopher in the first place, so meh.

Grunt, the second coolest team mate. And the coolest is not Wrex.

He likes Big Things, action and combat and calls you his Battlemaster. What more could you wish for in a Krogan?

Grunt is awsome, ffs will people stop comparing him to Wrex? Wrex is hard to live up to, and just becuase Grunt is a krogan dosent mean he has to live up to Wrex.

Grunt is awesome, and will one day be a worthy successor to Wrex as Great Unstoppable Overlord Battlemaster of all Krogankind.

Anyone ever wonder why Okeer didn't give Grunt biotics, though? Think he considered them a taint on pure kroganness?

Given the odds involved in becoming a biotic, (60% nothing, 30% cancer, 10% Biotic, not always useable) it was probably seen as another unnesesary complication in an already convoluted development process.

Besides, Grunt was meant to have a long term effect on the Krogan population, (ie. breeding) so Biotics wouldn't be helpful for that. Biotics might even detract from his "it's in the blood" status of breeding desirability if his successes are ascribed to biotic power rather than transferrable genes.

I'm not sure if the percentages used for humans can be applied to krogans, what with their multiple organ redundancies. And survival in a nuclear wasteland. I suspect krogans might be a bit hardier in fending off cancer.

But I do agree that adding biotics into the equation would be deemed unnecessary to Okeer's goal. If krogans were like asari with a natural tendency for biotics, then yeah, it would be important for a krogan to have that. But if it's the result of an element zero accident, then it's not true krogan and of no concern to Okeer.

I wonder just what about Grunt made Okeer find him to be the perfect specimen and the future of his people. Even if Grunt was meant for breeding, that doesn't address the issue that female krogans still have a high likelihood for stillbirths.

Part of me thinks Okeer intended Grunt to be the yardstick with which to measure other krogans for an army. It wasn't strength in numbers that would win their battles, but a far more specialized army, one that was capable of going toe to toe with a warrior like Grunt. Kind of like how Shepard was able to take on an entire Collector base with just twelve people.

Grunt with biotics? Wow!!! Grunt is deadly enough as it is........with biotics he would be virtually indestructible.:D

I'm not sure exactly what Grunt needs to do for people to consider him having more character. He's just been released from a tank, he's just realized that Okeer's imprints and intentions for him have failed. He has no purpose and wishes he did. He gives us insight into memories that Okeer, and by extension other krogan, would find useful. The universe and his experiences are all new and his reaction I think is spot on for a person who has been given all this knowledge but no context.

Comparing to him to Wrex means what? That the person wishes Wrex could have been a squadmate and the developers forego creating Grunt? Well, Tali and Garrus got to join the fun, so I'm sure Wrex fans feel they were shafted in that department.

Is Grunt simply a boring character, devoid of any interesting personality? Well, I like Kaidan, so I guess I'm no stranger to liking the boring characters. Disagree anyway. Watching Grunt react to Jack's prison escape is the highlight of my game.

Indeed. Grunt is just showing his glee for his new ragdoll toy he gets to toss around.
