So, this is the first game I've pre-ordered and I'm curious which would probably be faster. I currently have the CE pre-ordered on Amazon.com on one day shipping. It says it will arrive the 5th, which is two days after the game officially comes out.

However, I've heard that the standard edition has a 'Release Day Delivery' option where you can pre-order the game and have it delivered on the 3rd.

As a final option, I also have a Steam Account and I know they're offering it for pre-order as well. However, it's a 20 gb download, and even if I left my computer on downloading all day, I think that'd still take quite some time. To give a rough estimate of my computer's download speed, World of Warcraft, which was about 14 gb, took something like seven hours to download fully and patch. Plus, Steam has always been rather spotty on my computer and I hate that in order to play games that I download via steam, I have to run them through Steam, which means I can't always play them when I'm playing offline.

So, what do you guys think? Should I go with the CE, switch to release day shipping for the standard edition, or just preorder it on Steam and pray to the Bandwith gods?
Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't count on downloading from Steam, considering in awhile a lot of people will be preloading/downloading both Dragon Age Origins from Steam and Left 4 Dead 2. Also you should note that WoW patcher uses elements of p2p download, which may be a lot faster or a lot slower than your actual downloading speed depending on region and service provider.

It really is only a two days wait if the stuffs in the CE interest you. You should also note that the 'Release Day Delivery' is not a free option. However, if the stuffs in CE don't matter much to you and you really can't wait for those two days, I don't see why you shouldn't get the normal edition, which should be the fastest way.

I always do in-store pick up at gamestop. I think I will have the game in hand on November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. :)

I'd just order the CE, but if you really want it on the release date, go with the regular edition and just buy the dlc if you don't care about the cloth map or the tin case and stuff.
I just ordered the CE myself, but I don't care if I get it on the release date, as long as I get a copy.
