Jk, it's the national day, celebrating Canada's creation and pseudo-independence from the British, with the creation of the BNA / Constitution act in 1867.

I think the key word here is 'pseudo.'

Yea, pseudo because technically, the Queen is still head of State and the Governor General acts and speaks on her behalf. That's technically / in theory. In reality, Canada is 100% independent.

Definitely the most independant of the commonwealth

Yeah we've always been the most distant of the commonwealth, the Canadian experience in WWI was less than pleasant to say the least and it caused great strain between Canada and Britain. The commitment to the Empire nearly tore the country apart, in 1917 Ontario was preparing to invade Quebec to force French Canadian conscripts to war overseas. Couple that with a high casualty rate for a country with such a tiny population and alienation was inevitable, plus the rise of America as a global power only accelerated the process. The sorta "Et tu, Brute?" moment came in 1956 at the Suez when Canada refused to support Britain in anyway and actually actively worked against them with the Americans.

But today is not for history lessons, today is the day for some beers eh?

Once again I will voice my envy of those who can run DA on  their computers.

I can't imagine how some of my friends play this game on consoles, PC is really the best way to go. I overhauled my entire set-up only a few months after DA came out, went from an AMD Athalon 64 to an Intel Core i7. Worth every penny I've not touched my 360 in over 6 months and doubt I ever will again.

Just out of curiosity, what makes Leliana such a likeable/lovable character for you all?

Telling the truth I didn't like Leliana that much at the beginning, coz I'm usually into someone like Morrigan (sarcastic and b!tchy), but after my secon long talking session with Leliana I understood she is the sweetest and compassionate being I ever seen in video games. Seriously, I like everything about her: her looks, manners, chatting, flirting (oh, she is so good at it!) and of course her accent! Her love confession turned me into one constant d'awwww. And she is very helpful in the buttlefield if you know how to use her skills correctly.
