Leliana or Liara

Who is Liara???

Liara is an alien love interest from Mass Effect. Her entire species is female and the romance option is open to either gender.

Edit: My links never work... (sigh)
http://masseffect.wi...ki/Liara_T'Soni

Other Edit: Is that a "Someone explain who this is" hint hint or a "get back on topic"  hint hint?

Get back on topic hint... I was trying to be nicePosted Image  don't mind off topic once in awhile but after several pages it might be nice to throw in something about Leliana even if it's only a pic.
edit for top of page...  and so new people coming in to the thread know that this is really about LeliPosted Image

Hey everyone

New to this side of the forum, I've previously only posted in the Mass Effect section. Anyway, I thought I should drop in with my 2c on Leliana. I romanced her in my only play through of DA:O so far, and I really like her a lot. Sweet, sincere, intelligent and funny, yet also very good at lockpicking and being an archer. She's been in my part 90% of the time I think.

In terms of romance, it sort of grew on me as I played on. I was considering Morrigan at first, but with no happy ending and her survival of the fittest notion, I chose rather to be friends. Leliana on the other hand always supported me, told me nice stories at camp and helped to keep the mood light even during troubled times. How can one not love someone like that?

I must say, her voice artist is superb. She ranks up there with Ashley in ME for me, in the way the artist really brings a character to life with their voice. All of Bioware's characters have great voice artists, but Ash and Leliana take the cake for me.

This doesn't get brought up enough in this thread. The stories she tells you are so nice.

Welcome Ashaman X! I must agree Bioware picks such nice voice actors for everyone, they were well in most BW's games. Especially Dragon age I just Love Leliana's Voice, like I said I could listen to her say that Sten is a softie all day long :D

As you wish, Lady Zeleen. What would Leliana's reaction be if she knew of the dark ritual?

She'd probably be thankful you decided not to simply /self.

Still, it would have been interesting to hear what she has to say on the idea of an old god baby.

I think some of the other plus points is that Leliana is a romantic person at heart, yet not in the pushy or cheap way either. She won't demand or expect a bunch of flowers and a bubble bath for example, but you can totally make her day by giving her an Andraste's Grace flower, all because you remembered it was something she said she liked during your chats. There is an independance in her that is very attractive.

I have to admit, I don't know what she would think of the ritual with Morrigan though. I don't think you have the chance to speak to her about it. I think that if you did, she would probably support you, but she also may not because the Old Gods lead men away from the Maker. I think that my Warden would tell her though, he is an honest person, he couldn't lie to her. Perhaps she would weigh the fact against that if he hadn't done the ritual, he would be lost to her.

I think the story is going to be very interesting in DA2, I am waiting to see what happens regarding my romance with her, and any fall out from the Morrigan ritual.

Wow! that is a great question...  I think it would depend on whether she is hardened or not as to what her reaction may be..
I'm going to wait for the DLC and see what insight we will gain on our Leliana before I answer that onePosted Image

If i had to guess I would think she could understand if Loghain or Alistair did it, she may not like you having taken such a risk however. I think If you did it yourself she would not like it while unhardened. She may hardened however. But what do I care I have only done it twice, wished I had with my last City Elf since the funeral seemed so sad this time.

I've heard some people say that they do the US because they can't bring themselves to cheat on Leliana but if that's their sole reason...I think she'd understand, really. Even if you can't talk about it before the ritual you can tell her about it afterwards and while if you used to romance Morrigan she may get jeaalous the fact is that Morrigan is leaving, probably forever, so iot really isn't a problem. Given hos badly she takes your death I don't think those people are doing her a favor by staying 'true to her'.

Interview with Corinne Kempa
I've just seen this... It's been up for two days and probably posted here in this thread... but whatever

http://blog.bioware....-corrine-kempa/

What were your favorite lines of banter from Leliana?

Dying while in the company of a lovely seductress… tell me that isn’t a
good death.

My fruit? well it’s not technically forbidden… but it’s not freely given
either! Not everyone gets a bite

=]:D

Your warden might want to get a little more fiber in his diet.

you can tell her afterward?  Damn I never knew that.  When is that, during the fight in Denerim or in the coronation ceremony?

also about the US/DR dilemna, I think hardened Leli will accept what must be done to keep you, and given how hard the unhardened Leli takes your death, she would most likely cope with it too.

You don't get to have the conversation in-game but while you can argue that there isn't an opportunity to talk to her about it before the deed happens you have the rest of your lives to discuss it afterwards whether you choose to do so post-ritual, post-battle, post-coronation, whenever.

I dont do the DR since I think it is one of the stupidest risks and far to risky to do.

That's different then the people (and there are people who do this) who say that they will not do it for Leliana's sake. I think if you're only concern is her and for whatever reason Loghain/Alistair can't do it then you should do the ritual. I mean, she takes it really badly.

She takes your death really badly, particularly if she's unhardened.

Does she? That sucks. Particularly if there is little in-game indication beforehand that she would take it so hard.
