What tournament are you guys talking about? Alistair was going to take his final vows as a templar but then Duncan Right-conscripted him.

I think Ser Jory, was recruited from winning a tournament

Well I'll put up a few of mine then I'll quickly review the DLC.
*snip*

Thanks for the overview.... So I've decided to get this DLC just now and first go and re download and install 1.03.

Lo and behold,  the very second 1.03 installs, I get a nice Blue Screen of Death. *sigh*  I just love patch 1.03 SOOO much!:?

Can you post the bonuses as well?

Light Armor
Drakeskin (Tier 7)
9 Armor
2.3% Fatigue

+2 Dexterity
+10 Armor
+25% Chance to dodge attacks
+2 Stamina regeneration in combat
+50 Stamina

Edit: Should note that this is the end game level armor for Leliana in the DLC where it has +100 Stamina instead of only +50.

There's always the possibility of encountering darkspawn and didn't Alistair have to enter a tournament in order for Duncan to see him? Although I don't think he actually won said tournament.

Nope, that was Ser Jory.

He entered a tournament in Highever to prove himself worthy of joining the Wardens.

Alistair was about to take his final vows as a templar when Duncan invoked the right of conscription. The grand cleric was furious because she didn't want to let Alistair go (although, according to him it wasn't because she valued him).

Alistair did fight in a tournament, though I don't think it was mentioned in the game. He was bested by a female templar, at least, and wasn't the finest warrior among the templars in general, but Duncan saw his kind and loyal heart and recruited him anyways. Or something along those lines, according to the wikia.

My opinion of Leliana rose by a quite a lot after this DLC.

In fact, I find myself fervently praying we get to see her again in future DA games.

I also hope we see more of Orlais, bards and the Grand Game.

As for which companion could be next in line for a DLC my thoughts are:

1) Morrigan - showing what happened to her after the events in Origins, possibly sheding some light on her plans and setting the stage for DA2.

2) Zevran - plenty of options here. Pre DA:O you can show his training or some of his missions (last mission before coming to Ferelden would work quite well). Post DA:O they could show him trying to take over the Crows.

3) Shale - her journey to Tevinter and maybe how she regains her mortality. Would allow Bioware to use her again as a normal dwarf warrior.

4) Sten - possibly his journey to Ferelden and the events that led to his imprisonment.

That sucks 1.03 never did me any favours in terms of stability and actually fixing memory leaks but I have tons of horsepower in my PC so I can just muscle through things like that. Still it sucks cause this DLC is really good.

Where did they get that info?

I don't remember hearing about it in the game itself. Did David Gaider post that information somewhere?

One of the more postive things in light of this DLC is that it seems to set the stage for all those things, the return of DA:O characters like Leliana and a potential conflict between Ferelden and Orlais. It will be interesting to see who they do next, it might be possible that those who get into this round of DLC are returning along side the Warden for DA2.

Also I completely agree Leliana is fantastically written in this DLC she has real and substantial character growth in the course of only an hour. I really hope they bring her back in a sequel to further grow her and the other Orgins characters as people and their relationships with both The Warden and their past.

I wasn't going to get this DLC, but after reading the last couple of pages of this thread I've changed my mind! It looks and sounds great.

Yeah, 1.03 does nothing but create CTDs whenever certain spells are used, along with random crashes. So it goes. At least it seems as if progress is being made with 1.04. Certainly has nothing to do with my PC as I just built it a couple months ago.

Ah well, I just hope the DLC isn't bugged out due to my PC's hostility to 1.03 since it seems like the DLC is actually worth it  this time around...

If he did, I have no idea. I can only assume so. It would be a very strange thing to write, if it wasn't true - they even gave the templar who bested him a name, though it escapes me at the moment. It does make sense, though, as Duncan would have had few other opportunities to see Alistair's fighting skills.

My belief is that DA2 will take place in Orlais. Cosidering how muh information we got about that country from Origins, Awakening and now Leliana's Song, I can't help but feel Bioware are slowly preparing us to venture there in the sequal.
The fact that Morrigan ends up in Orlais whether or not you accept her offer also makes me believe we'll be seeing her there.
Hmm, Morri and Leliana both back in the sequal.. would be a dream come true for me.

Also, in IGN interview the writer of Leliana's Song said some of the characters we encountered there will be back in future DA game. Which ones do you think he meant?
My money is on revered mother Dorothea and that warrior you rescue from the Arl's dungeon to replace Tug. Could also be that chantry sister which Leliana threatened with a dagger.

I've said it before and I'll say it again the Denerim marketplace has some of the worst memory leaks in any game I've played since Civ 4 V1.0 and that game's memory leaks were so bad as to make most map sizes unplayable and anything past the medieval era an insta crash fest. How they missed that many memory leaks is beyond me . . .

The only other was revered mother Dorothea, but that's because she and Majorlaine are voiced by the same actor.

My pleasure, love to help out with information whenever I can.

But the Leliana's Song was really a joy to play, and it was kinda of a nice early birthday gift as well :P

But I really wonder what happen to Sketch and Silas; and also wasn't Adaia a name from the City Elf Origin?
Now I have this image of young Leliana and my PC Cousland as a pre-teen or teenager crossing paths without knowing it.

Dorothea for sure, they've retconed Leliana's past to make her the end possesor of those Orlesian military documents. Maybe the warrior, but the chantry sister had no real purpose other than to upset Leliana. I'm not going to hope for things to happen but I'm very interested in what character they do next and what it involves. I wonder if we'll start to see a pattern . . .

I really liked that guy. He seemed genuinely nice. I hope he'll be back. I forget his name, as I have only played it once so far.

and the character of Dorothea  is Orlesian, which explains her accent too.

Loghain ends up in Orlais, too, if you spare him. Is it too much to hope for a cameo of him too? Posted Image

I kind of hope not. I didn't find any of these characters to be as instantly compelling as Sigrun, or Justice, or Shale, or really anyone.

Adaia was CE's mother. She was apparently killed by humans according to Cyrion.
