Hmmm.... That makes the 2011 date for the sequel seem more likely, doesn't it? The fast turn around worries me, unless they've been working on it since Originsa was released--and from everything that's been said, they hadn't decided too many things about plot and characters for that to be the case. I just hope that it's a game like Origins, and nothing like Awakening.
It's helpful to keep in mind that pre-production probably started before DA:O was done and in addition Origins was done for almost a year before they released it so it's actually been "done" for quite some time. It was delayed when EA demanded console ports, but that work was outsourced to another compay so BioWare hasn't done large scale work on the franchise (and they've always thought of Dragon Age as a franchise) in almost a year and a half.
Edit: Also I much like others in the Morrigan thread believe that BioWare and EA purposely put David Gaider out there to wind down expectations and say vague things to keep fan intereset up. He has a well established habit of answering any question about anything regarding the future of Dragon Age, with "Maybe maybe not, we'll see."
