Well, I knew this was going to happen. Am not surprised, but still a bit excited, I'm sure BioWare will deliver some surprises. But I see it's going the way Mass effect is. Shepard= Hawke, "Deadly alies" = recruiting like in ME"  and so on.
You can clearly see where it's going, but It's not like i'm not going to buy it. I'm certain the trailer will reveal a lot. Oh too bad 1,5 month till it comes out.

No, I got that, we just disagree about ME2, I'm willing to not get into an argument about it though.

On a more relevant note, this new game sounds quite ambitious, I'm looking forward to it. Too bad we seem to be losing the origin stories, but since DAO is the only game I can think of that had them there was no reason to assume they'd be there.

I dont really care about the origin stories, pre and during ostagar they where there but after it can be summed up best by Yahteze on the escapist:
"People would then say "HELLO YOU ARE AN ELF"'

The Morri fans are peeved about it to say the least it seems. Dont really care that is a ways off, after I start my history program so this goes on the backburner for now.

I don't know, returning to the Alienage as a city elf was really good I thought, as was Orzammar as a dwarf, but there's no reason events like that can't happen without separate origins I guess, they'd just feel a bit less unique.

Today is good for now, I just got into my program and got two more people to start DA, on a side note one is going for Leliana, and the other Morrigan (boo).



What would be cool is if we got a book in game or heard tavern stories about the warden if we could enable that. Sorta like picking up a book that filled in what happened after Awakening, or hearing a Bard singing a tale about it.



Probably wont get anything that referential since this seems to be another EA attempt to get the LCBF. again.

The reason many people don't like what is seen as a move to Mass Effect style isn't that Mass Effect sucks. It doesn't, from what I hear, but it's not my king of game, so I don't play it. It's not a RPG. It's an action game with RPG elements-and less of those elements than there were in Mass Effect 1. Many people who liked Origins liked it because it was an amazingly immersive RPG with fantastic interaction with other characters, and with lots of ways to make the character your own.  That's just what they seem to be ditching with DA2.

You remember Awakening, right? I was one of those people saying that folks were being pessimistic about the lack of companions, and the new dialogue system. Boy, was I ever wrong, wrong, wrong.....I thought that RtO would have lots of depth and voice acting.... I thought...well, that Bioware would never make anything like Darkspawn Chronicles, and that when we asked to have DLC with our companions, they wouldn't give us DLC where we killed them. I'm totally down with pessimism, and Bioware taught me how.

At least Leliana's song was good, but it was still shorter than it should have been. I defended that yesterday, but if all we're going to get now is DLC, they need to be longer and have more conversation.

I've only ever played human, but I still think its lousy for everyone who played the other races.

Lol, Bioware and whats happened to StarCraft 2's b.net is really whats made me a pessimist. So its a pretty recent development for me. On the plus side, I can't ever be disappointed with the final results, so there's that.

Go into the DA2 forums and read what BioWare people have been saying about the game. Seriously the game just sounds like dogsh*t like Start Wars prequels bad, I'd love to be wrong but I just can't see it. They don't care about any of the things I liked about Dragon Age it's all Mike Hawke medieval badass who kills things like the spartans in 300.

Yep Dragon Age 2 trading the RPG in for stylish gore. Everyday I try to stay as a paragon, but EA may just yet might make me a renegade,

hawke is basically shepard. You can have a male or female character, but you can't change the race.

Nope Hawke is either a male or female HUMAN. No elves or Dwarves.
