I swear, that chivalry is dead shot is one of my favorite screens ever.

Off topic: Zeleen's avatar always reminds me of Princess Zelda.

Leliana just read Laidlaw's interview and had this to say:

Damn that dame is hot when she is angry!

I have no idea what you're talking about. 8D Where's that bit of dialogue from?

Lothering. The merchant.

IN the French issue of Joystig Laidlaw (A dev) said no tactical view in battle, and NO TOOLSET.

Also that dialouge is from the greedy merchant in Lothering.

How did you pull that off? He almost instantly triggers before I can get close to the tavern. I must be missing the super secret side path or something. xD

Only on XBox.  PC is to stay basically the same.  Confirmed.  "Combat on the consoles is being streamlined to better utilize the
controller interface. Combat on the PC should be largely the same.

That magazine(Joystiq) is a PC magazine from what I understand why would a PC magazine be talking about the console port? It seems to be a PC interview(mentioning of Toolset), so either BioWare is lying or their is a huge mistake.

I really don't care that much about tactical view, I care about the toolset. No toolset no purchase.

I like them both, but I could forgive the no tactical view if they gave us a good story, but no toolset no purchase I agree 1000 times over. The modding community has kept me interested in this game and franchise much more than any DLC, and if they think they're going to get my money by eliminating the competition they are very wrong the only reason I bought their DLCs was because I was still into the game like I had just bought it from the freshness mods bring.

Apparently, you are correct.  http://social.biowar...index/4376174/1

My enthusiasm for DA2 is pretty much nill, now.  :crying:

Exactly.

Lets compare ME2 and DAO for a second. I enjoyed both games very much. With Origins, I'm still playing it as the mods have kept me interested and I've bought Awakening and DLC for it as well. In part, because messing around in the toolset or trying out mods has kept me playing Origins.

With ME2, I played through it several times after it launched. I enjoy it for what it is ( a shooter with RPG elements), but I have no desire to play or pay for any of the DLC , regardless of how good it may be. If there were mods or a toolset, I might still be interested.

More than that though, the lack of an iso view or toolset, just seems indicitive of not giving a damn about making the PC version play to the strengths of the PC as a gaming platform. I fear this news is only the tip of the iceburg regarding the terminal case of consolitis DA2 has contracted....

ME2 mods conflict with nVidia Control panel so I have to choose between fixing annoyances or having Anti-Aliasing in my 2010 PC release. Holy modern fulfilling PC experience Batman!

The whole rationale that they can't do the iso view because of the textures is just laughable to me. They must have some AMAZING textures for DA2 then, right? You know because the textures in those screens we've seen looked PRISTINE.

Well It doesn't even make sense from the technical side of things because one they're on the PC and can throw way more hardware at the problem and two they didn't have top down only textures to begin with so what the hell?

I agree with what you guys are saying so far, since mods have saved Dragon Age for me.

Ah well if DA2 sucks we can keep playing DA1.

Doing another run this week in Dragon Age, and thanks to mods adneate suggested I am glad to be replaying it. No toolset, means DA2 is just going to ME fantasy version,

Here you all go:

It's part of a bigger pic that I have as a temporary desktop background (if anyone wants it, I guess I can upload it). Normally I just leave her in Lothering (she came off, to use the phrase, "an Archdemon short of a Blight"), but on my latest (which I'll call my canon playthrough), I decided to bring her aboard. Now I feel like I missed a heck of a character this whole time.

I didn't like her at first either from what I saw from the character trailer and when you first meet her at the bar.  (Plus the first time I saw her was the sacred ashes commercial on my tv and I thought she looked so awesome and then I saw what she looked like in the game online and was deeply disappointed.) In fact I almost left without her until she finds you when your about to leave. Then I bitterly let her join at Alistair's request.
Lo and behold that voice, her story telling, and that hopeless romantic side of her entranced me into choosing her over Alistair... even though from the moment I bought the game I had decided I was going to romance him.

Leliana in Massive Armor, did you change her UTC file to a Warrior or something? In my current game she's got only 14 strength.

Basically pumped a bunch into strength for a while. Once she had enough strength for it, I started pumping into dexterity.

I always keep her in light armour with a Longbow, I find DW Rogues don't quite have the punch that an Archer does on Nightmare. Without constant player management they're basically crappy DW Warriors with low stamina, health and severe problems with fatigue management in anything but light armour. That being said I tend to run slightly unconventional parties, like my current 2 Mage party with one Rogue and one Warrior.
